When was the last time you were polled about your bedroom habits?
You know, how you sleep! ![]()
The National Sleep Foundation has found that a comfortable bedroom is key to getting a good night’s sleep in their 2011 Bedroom Poll.
The vast majority of American’s—more than 9 out of 10-say that mattresses and pillows are important to getting a good night’s sleep.
How comfortable is your mattress? Do you think your mattress could be impacting your sleep?
Before I started sleeping on the new Serta Perfect Sleeper mattress, my answer would have been no. Most of the time I didn’t think my mattress related to my lack of sleep. Silly, huh?
Lying awake in bed, my thoughts would go to what I had to do for the day, what I had done that day, listening to noises in my house….it would go on forever. A lot of times I thought I couldn’t fall asleep because my mind was still too active or I just wasn’t tired.
Now, I definitely believe your mattress has a HUGE impact on your ability to fall asleep easier and faster. When my head hits the pillow and I can cozy up on the mattress, I don’t even remember falling asleep.
Having a good mattress definitely can impact your sleep. I have also noticed that I am not waking up in a sweat.
The new Perfect Sleeper mattress from Serta features Cool Balance Fabric Technology, which helps reduce temperature swings in the middle of the night. How cool is that?
Overall, 77% of respondents said they get a good nights sleep at least a few nights a week. 42% got a good nights sleep every night or almost every night while 13% said they rarely or never got a good nights sleep!
The elements that had the biggest impact on sleep were pillows (70% or 4 out of 5 people rated that the highest) and bedroom temperature (69%).
More than one half rated bedroom darkness (57%) and/or sheets (53%) as having a big impact.
What do you think? What impacts your sleep more?

You can take the Bedroom Poll by the National Sleep Foundation yourself and see where you compare!
Disclosure: I received the new Serta Perfect Sleeper Mattress to review. I will be sharing lots of information with you on behalf of Serta and the National Sleep Foundation. All opinions are 100% my own!

I’ve never been polled about my sleep. I definitely LOVE my sleep 🙂 I think once we get a new bed, I’ll actually wake up feeling rested 🙂
That is definitely how I feel now! It’s not such a struggle to get out of bed!
That is entertaining. The biggest impact on my sleep is the three month old in the bassinet next to me. I swear she makes more noise asleep than awake, LOL!
