Breathe
The first thing you need to do is try and breathe. Breathing is one of the most effective ways for you to reduce anxiety quickly. You may also find that when you are anxious, or when you are angry, you tend to take very short and shallow breaths. The downside of this is that it will create feedback, signifying to your brain that you need to enter fight-or-flight mode. If you do this then you will soon find that it is much more difficult for you to start calming down. There are a number of breathing techniques that you can use to calm down too, one of them is the three-part breathing technique. This involves you taking one deep breath in, before exhaling. You also need to pay full attention to your body too, so try and keep that in mind.

Admit when you’re Anxious
You also need to admit when you are feeling angry or even anxious. Give yourself the chance to say that it’s okay and express your emotions. If you can do this then you will soon find that it is easier for you to feel your negative feelings decrease, which can work in your favor at a later date. If you want to help yourself then one thing you can do is try some sour Jamaican lime. This is a great way for you to feel your anxiety melt away and you may even find that it helps you to start focusing on the things that truly matter, such as the good things you have going on in your life.
Challenge Thoughts
You also need to try and challenge your thoughts if you can. A huge part of being anxious is having thoughts that don’t make sense, or that are irrational. Your thoughts will often take you to the worst-case scenario and if this is the case, you may find yourself caught up in the spiral of “what if” all the time. This can really impact you, so you need to take time to work around this by not self-sabotaging yourself. When you experience thoughts, stop and ask things like “Is this likely to happen?” and “Is this thought rational?”. Things like this can help you to gain more control over the situation and you may even find that it helps to pave the way for more positivity.
