As you try crush out your work for the day, you can’t help but let your mind wonder. It’s hard to believe how quickly your little one is growing up. With another Birthday party lurking around the corner, you may be stumped on what to do to ensure they have one hell of a day.
Especially if funds are tight!
The good news is that there are plenty of ways you can make a party amazing for your little one, without blowing a hole in your budget. Through this article, we plan to go through a few tips to help you do just this.
It All Starts With Figuring Out What Your Kid Really Loves
Umm, well – now that’s pretty obvious, right?
The truth is, kids are fickle. They are constantly adapting and embracing new fades, One moment they may be in to power rangers, the next it’s adventure time or the minions. As a parent working a full-time job, and managing all the difficulties of “adulting” it can be difficult to stay up to date with what your little one loves.
Which is why the first step of your party planning should be to ask your little one what they really want. Check out what shows they are watching. That way you can throw a theme-based party based on something that they are currently infatuated with.
Booking A Show Could Be A Great Idea
When we are adults, clowns may seem evil – but as a kid, they are the funniest thing this planet has to offer. If you really can’t get over how creepy they look, there are plenty of other awesome options to choose from.
From magicians, to balloon specialists you could unlock a magical day for your little one on their special day – but why stop there?
Do you have any friends that are good artists? Why not ask them to do you a solid and help out with face painting? We all know just how awesome it feels to look like our favourite superhero for the day! Or is that just me (woops)!
Don’t Overthink It – But Do Plan It
It’s never a good idea to just wing a party regardless of who it’s for. Planning can make or break any event. However, at the same time – you really do not need to overthink it!
One of the biggest mistakes I see when my friends are planning a party’s over planning, which ultimately just causes unnecessary stress.
For example, who cares how the invitation looks? It’s for kids – as long as they know the time and place, you’re good! Heck handwritten invitations would work perfectly fine!
Plan Some Fun Kid Games For Entertainment Between Everything Else
This is the perfect way to ensure you throw a party, which will be impossible for your kid to forget. Here is a party I remember from way back when I was 10-years old.
It all started with a nice barbecue by the pool. Packed with some of my favourite snacks (a pretty important part of any party). From there, the schedule was packed full of fun childhood games, such as pass the parcel, hot potato, hide and seek, simon says, and of course open gates.
And of course, the amazing helicopter cake at the end of the day sure helped capture the moment in my memory.
Opening Gifts First Is Actually A Brilliant Strategy
Oh, how I wish I got to do this when I was a kid. I am sure you can relate to how horrible it was waiting until everyone finished their cake before you could dive head first into unwrapping presents.
But have you ever considered…
Allowing your little one to open their presents first thing (when everyone arrives of course), gives them more to do just in case our old-fashioned childhood games don’t float their boat! You may even find your home dangerously quite as the kids partner off to play with the new toys.
