When my son was born over 6 years ago, I had dozens of promises run through my head as I held him for the first time. I promised to love him unconditionally. I promised to always keep him safe and be his champion. I promised to lift him up and encourage his imagination. Each time we reach a new milestone in his life, I make him more promises. When I found out I was pregnant with twin girls, I was overwhelmed with how I could be a good Mom. I made a promise to make sure to encourage them, raise their self-esteem and bond with each child individually.
These days, my three kids keep me on my toes. But every night, I look at them as I put them to sleep and I am overcome with an overwhelming feeling of how much I love them. And I promise to always be there for them.
In the past few years, I have attended many baby showers as well as well as buying products for my own children. My go-to gift is always a basket of JOHNSON’S Baby products. It’s long been a staple in our household, as it has been in many houses since 1954.
One thing that was always coming up in my “mommy groups” was the concern over the ingredients in JOHNSON’S Baby products. While they have always been safe, JOHNSON’s Baby listened to us moms and made the decision to stand up and change their product formulas—not because of safety, but for peace of mind.
As the new products are hitting the shelves at retailers right now, JOHNSON’s Baby has launched their “Your Promise is Our Promise” campaign as a way to express their ongoing commitment to moms. Just as us moms make promises to their children, JOHNSON’S® Baby also makes promises so moms don’t have to worry about the products they use on their little ones.
- The JOHNSON’S® Baby Family is excited to introduce you to our seven newly reformulated products:
- JOHNSON’S® Baby HEAD-TO-TOE® Wash
- JOHNSON’S® Baby Lotion
- JOHNSON’S® Baby Shampoo
- JOHNSON’S® Baby Shampoo & Conditioner for Thick and Curly Hair
- JOHNSON’S® Baby Shampoo & Conditioner for Thin and Straight Hair
- JOHNSON’S® Baby Shampoo with Calming Lavender
- JOHNSON’S® Baby Soothing Vapor Baby Bath
In all of the products above, JOHNSON’S Baby has removed formaldehyde-releasing preservatives, parabens and reduced traces of 1,4 dioxane.
JOHNSON’s Baby has released a video inspired by a Japanese legend that folding 1,000 origami cranes will result in a wish granted and a promise fulfilled, which is thought to be a big labor of love. The video is an open letter to moms showing scientists and their families coming together to build an origami stork mobile, symbolizing the delivery of their promise to always listen to moms.
I absolutely love this sweet video and I’ve been sharing it in all of my mom groups, so I’m very excited to share it with you all! I’m thrilled that a company like JOHNSON’S Baby has actually listened to moms to make this change for our peace of mind.
What kind of promises have you made to your children?
I’ve partnered with Johnson & Johnson Consumer Companies, Inc. and The Motherhood, who sent me a box of products and compensated me for my time. Opinions, experiences and photos shared here are all my own, and I hope you enjoy them.
Johnson’s has always been great on the kids’ skin, i just assumed it was already hypoallergenic.
I think that it is so good that Johnson and Johnson removed these harmful chemicals and made their products safer for everyone. I think that it is great that they listened to their consumers.
I love this. I have always loved the Lavender night time lotion and bubble bath ( I even use it!) lol I am proud of them for making the products safer for our kids! Go Johnson and Johnson!
I love that they have reformulated some of their products. I, myself, sometimes use the Nighttime body wash because the lavender scent helps me fall asleep, as well! <3
I don’t have kids but the Johnson’s Lavendar scent is the best–so relaxing! If/when I have kids, that will be a must have.
I also didn’t realize it wasn’t already hypoallergenic. I have a soft spot for Johnson’s products, I remember my parents using that stuff on me as a kid. The No More Tears? Totally works. Love it.
I have always loved Johnson’s I use the baby wipes now to remove my makeup and have used them for years. I’ve never tried the oils, but have always wanted to. I like that they’re thinking more about their ingredients!

I am so so happy that they changed. Even though they claimed the ingredients were not in a high enough concentrate – it was still nice that they respected the opinions of their customers and changed the formula! Yay J&J!
it’s so nice that our world is becoming more aware and responsible for what we make, and what we buy! =)
I have always had respect for all Johnson’s products. I had no idea they had a lavender product I might even buy for myself!
I am glad that Johnson’s have changed their ingredients. The peace of mind of a mom is paramount to all and can definitely be a force to be reckoned with when dealing with companies. Thanks for sharing this post.

That is awesome! I’m so glad they changed the formula. I got pretty bummed with options way back when the scare was coming out. I loved Johnson’s stuff. Now I still can!
I love this company, it shows they really care about what moms/cosumers want in there products.Glad to hear they removed parabens.
I’m glad that they listened – we are big J&J fans in this house and this makes me even more of one!

I love Johnson’s. It is really great that they are taking the time to reformulate. Shows effort and care for their consumer.
I think it’s great that they’ve reformulated! I will have to look into this!!! I promised my children to always be honest and try my best at setting a good example for them.
This is great to know! My cousin is having a baby and I know she had expressed concerns about Johnson and Johnson
I’ve never used Johnsons on my son because of these sort chemicals, it’s good that they’ve finally taken them out 🙂
What a sweet video, and I’m glad that they reformulated. I use organic products so I won’t switch anytime soon, but I’ve always made and upheld the promise to do the best I can for my kids. Whether it means making them a # 1 priority time wise, or fighting for their best interests. I think it’s just what mom’s do.
I’m glad they got rid of what some consider ‘not so good’ chemicals. I like to use organic products as much as I can.
I’m excited to get their new formula products.Scary to think I have used the other for so long though!
Your kids are so cute! Also, Johnsons is my favorite…even though I’m obviously not a child! I like using the lavender lotion on my hands, it’s a great moisturizer!
It is good to hear that they have reformulated these products and removed those ingredients. I loved the video, the origami stork mobile was beautiful. My promise to my children is to love them unconditionally and always make them #1.
