This post is brought to you by MiMedia and The Motherhood. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Memorial Day is quickly approaching and I am so excited for it. For me, it’s the kick-off to summer and I have so many fun things planned for our family. Hayden will be out of school and I honestly love having him home with me and the girls. For Memorial Day, we plan on heading to the lake and I just love the idea of a 3 day weekend with my family.
Whenever we have this precious family time together, I tend to take A LOT of pictures. I love sharing them with friends and family on social media but I tend to never take them off my phone or print them from my computer. I even made sure to get a phone with more GB the last time I upgraded because I was forever running out of room and not able to take more pictures. My husband also takes a lot of pictures too so when it comes time to track down a photo, we have to look through both of our phones, our laptops and even my desktop. Wouldn’t it be nice to have ONE place for all of your photos? For my family, that solution is MiMedia, the personal cloud I always wanted and is finally here!
I’ve been using MiMedia for over a month now and I love how simple it has been to organize my digital files – photos, videos, documents and music! I have the app downloaded to my iPhone and I use both the desktop app and the MiMedia website. Now you can feel comfortable that all of those precious photos and videos are in one safe spot – but accessible from all of your different devices.
Uploading and Viewing Your Pictures
Like I mentioned, I have the app on my phone, the desktop app and I also utilize the MiMedia website. When I first downloaded the MiMedia desktop app, I decided to upload ALL of my photos and videos. It took almost a day but then they were safely in the MiMedia cloud. Now, MiMedia does a check daily to upload any new photos that have been added to my PC which is great when I put in my memory card to dump my photos and never do anything else about it.
Below, you can see my dashboard for the MiMedia desktop app where I can see how much storage I am using and when the last upload happened.
Remember when I talked about running out of room on my phone? Well, since I upgraded to a bigger phone, I haven’t run out of room but that also means I have over 8,000 photos on my phone still! I downloaded the MiMedia app for my iPhone and was able to upload all of those photos to my MiMedia cloud so now they are safe and sound – just in case something happens to my phone. With 3 kids, it’s highly possible it could! You can set your photos from your camera roll on your phone to automatically upload to MiMedia so you don’t have to remember to do it. Plus, you’ll have access to viewing those photos too!
As for the MiMedia website, you’ll be able to see ALL of the photos you have uploaded from the desktop app and your phone. You can also connect with Facebook, Dropbook and Flickr to upload photos from there, finally getting ALL of your digital life in one safe place.
I love that when I login, I’m shown memories from 5 years ago! I love rediscovering those photos.
You can then easily find photos that have been uploaded – search or take a look by year and then month. I like that you can favorite a photo also so your favorites will all be in one place. Collections are also created automatically (like our Walt Disney World trips) or you can create your own collections.
Safe and Secure Sharing
The thing I love about MiMedia is how safe and secure it is. You have to log in to see all of your digital files so even if you lose your phone, you’re still able to get your photos!
If you’re wanting to share photos with other people, you can safely do that with MiMedia’s MiDrive. Collaborate with your friends and family in a truly private place by sharing photos and videos. You can invite friends and family to access the MiDrive via email. People who have access to the MiDrive can upload their pictures and videos, chat amongst each other and enjoy them on all devices (phone, tablet and web).
