With a toddler, a dog and a cat, it’s hard to keep the house clean for the holidays. The excitement of all of these items around our house that are only seen once a year usually can create a bit of chaos!
Even before Hayden, we had to make sure not to put any breakable ornaments on the bottom of our tree. It took quite a few shattered ornaments under our tree from our cat and dog before we learned that. Now, we make sure all breakable ornaments go up high and e have invested in plastic ornaments for the bottom of the tree. Now, if an ornament falls off the tree, we don’t have to worry about a mess to clean up!
So we don’t have too much clutter with all of the holiday decorations we like to add to our house we actually clear off our bookcases and replace it with the decorations. So not to create even more clutter, we put the picture frames and other items into the boxes that held the holiday decorations.
Even with our fake Christmas tree, it still drops needles onto to the floor. Add the cat and dog fur that gets all over everything and I’m needing to sweep and vacuum on a daily basis. I invested in a small handheld vacuum that I keep charged so I can easily pick up the tree needles and fur.
With the holidays being such a busy time of the year, I’m using a Rug Doctor cleaner to clean my carpet and couches. You can rent one from a local store and get everything cleaned in a day! Then you’ll be ready for those people dropping off cookies!
Another thing I like to have on hand are cleaning wipes. Cleaning wipes are my go to quick cleaner for everything from the bathroom, kitchen and living room! It helps to clean up and disinfect!

Nice idea to put a wider oval patch under the tree. It is convenient and helps with cleaning the room up after the Holidays are over. Happy Holidays 🙂
