While walking the toy aisle at your favorite store I get so tired of seeing the same things over and over. My daughter, Cecelia, is obsessed with all things girly; Doc McStuffins, Sophia the First, Lalaloopsy etc. so when she wants a race car or truck I am all over it-which is why I was ECSTATIC to be able to review the Throttle Motorcycle from Worx Toys. (My husband was more excited than I was).
Upon receiving the Throttle from Worx Toys, we opened it immediately. The packaging was clean, yet brought a lot of attention to it and made my girly daughter squeal with delight. I was a little confused with the size of the motorcycle itself thinking it was going to be bigger, but do not let that fool you. This thing is FAST. After we took it out of the packaging, we noticed it came with a book. This is more than just a user’s manual that you get with most electronic cars, this is an actual story book for the little motorcycle enthusiast in your life. It’s a book with pictures that teaches the user how to work the toy. It’s pretty awesome if I do say so myself.
Looking through the book, the narrator, Howie, explains all of the features of the motorcycle; how to get it to move, how to get the blinkers, exhaust, motor, transmission, and anything else you can think of to work just by entering the a sequence of codes. The buttons for the codes are on the top of the motorcycle and light up, so it’s hard to miss. Now, don’t let the word “code” throw you off. These aren’t your normal number codes, they’re shapes, so it’s is simple enough for even the littlest of motorcycle fans to use. Worx Toys even makes it easier for the parent, too. If you forget a code, you don’t need to go searching for it in the story; they include an appendix in the back for easy reference.
After playing with the Throttle Motorcycle for quite some time, we headed over to the in-law’s house and Cecelia had to bring it with her. The rest of the family was there as well, so my 9 year old nephew was able to play with it too. He was OBSESSED. He has had his fair share of electronic cars in his day, but he told me at the end of the night that this was so much cooler than his other ones. He loved how fast it went after entering one of the 4 drive codes. There were times where he would have to sprint to catch up to it! While he did wish for some things that may or may be feasible (having it do wheelies) one thing he wished was that it had bigger wheels so it could handle cracks in sidewalks and general bumps when playing with it outside in the driveway.
Worx Toys really has this learning while playing thing figured out. The Throttle Thrills book that is included in with the motorcycle is so very helpful for parents as well as kids-without making it boring to read (It’s a pretty cute story). With the holidays coming up, I know of a certain 9 year old boy who would love to receive this, or one of the five other vehicles they have as well (Like the helicopter! How cool is that?!).

i have 2 girls- i very much enjoy toys that spark their imagination and let them DO things. so often toys are “dumbed” down for girls and it makes me so mad!
