I don’t know about you, but painting my nails is something that I never have time to do! But when I do, I love having pretty fingers! I am totally loving my Julep subscription… but more on that later. Here is what I did with this month’s pretty colors:
Cute little hearts for Valentine’s Day! I tend to gravitate towards the non-traditional, so the cream grey Meryl was perfect when finished with an understated shiny red heart in the Glenn color.
First, use two coats of your base color. Pretty pastel Conversation Heart colors would be sweet, with a little white heart and pinks and reds alternating each finger would be fun too!
And the heart is made by two tiny swipes of contrasting polish! Make sure you don’t have that much on your brush. Start where you want the outer “hump” of the heart and sweep towards where the point should be. Lift up your brush and do it for the other side. Easy!
Disclaimer: I know I am far from a hand model and my painting isn’t a work of art, but they are still fun! My family especially loves them and I have a mani/pedi day set up for tomorrow. My kids have requested a full set of VDay hearts!
And just a note: You can read about the fabulous Julep Maven program on their website. And use the code: SIPPYCUPMOM to get your first month for only $5 shipped!
Ooooo, so cute! I think I might have to try alternating between red and pink hearts like you suggest…I think I’ll need some practice creating the heart shape, though. 🙂
The little heart was not that hard to do. That being said-mine are far from perfect. But they do make for cute nails! I had a lot of compliments today!
Not sure I have enough skills to make that cute little heart. Looks adorable though!
Yes you do! Try it on paper first-don’t want to mess up your base coat and have to start over. 🙂 They are not that hard to do. Just make sure you don’t have too much polish on your brush and go for it! 🙂
I think they are quite fun!
Thanks! They are fun! If I had more patience I think I would try putting multiple hearts on each finger. The right hand was a bit harder to do, as you can probably imagine. 🙂
This is so cute! Now, if only I had pretty fingernails! 🙂
Wish I had long fingernails to do this. It is too cute!
OMG so cute!!
Such a cute idea! Love it!
