I find the best stuff when I’m cleaning out and organizing my craft room. Little treasures and doodads that I had forgotten about long ago. What was I going to make from these broken vintage earrings? Oh-the possibilities with the little Chinese print coasters given to us by Grandma! This weeks find was a yard of beautiful linen and beautiful pastel silk fabric scraps! These would make a lovely combination for a shabby chic wreath bedecked with rolled roses!
- 6″ by 44″ section (or the equivalent) of linen in a natural color
- Silk scraps in pastel colors
- XXL Glue Dots®
- XL Glue Dots®
- Craft Glue Dots®
- Mini Glue Dots®
- Pinking Sheers
- 10″ Foam Wreath
- Random pastel buttons
Cut linen into approximately 1.25″ strips with the pinking shears.
Attach one end of the linen strip to the foam wreath using an XL Glue Dot®.
Wrap linen strip around wreath until covered, overlapping when you add another strip and attaching with XL Glue Dots®.
Cut linen and silk into .75″ strips using the regular scissors.
Add an XXL Glue Dot® where you would like the first rolled rose.
Put one strip of linen and one of silk in the center of the Glue Dot and start to twist them over each other and create your rose as shown.
Attach additional rolled roses using the XXL Glue Dots® and XL Glue Dots® for varying sizes. Add buttons using the Craft Glue Dots® and Mini Glue Dots® depending on the size of the button
Hang your wreath with ribbon and enjoy!
What fun things have you found while doing your spring cleaning?
