It’s the time for resolutions! Everyone is making them: think positive, exercise, eat healthy, worry less and more family time. Almost all of the lists that I’ve seen have included ORGANIZATION! Doesn’t it feel good to open the refrigerator and actually find what you are looking for? Or to dive into the bottom of your closet in search for the perfect shoes and find BOTH of them within a minute!
As all of you know, I do love my crafts and projects! I have amassed quite the stash of supplies! I know they say “a cluttered desk is the sign of genius” but this is WAY passed “cluttered”. To be totally honest, I currently spend most of my time LOOKING for things. And for goodness sake, if I do find one item that I am looking for I better not set it down-it will be sucked into a vortex and not seen again until I no longer need it! So… I have some work to do.
I would love to share with you some delicious ideas I found on Pintrest. These will go on my “big list” to tweak and hopefully put into effect as time allows in the next year.
First up: that huge box of Ribbon Revelry ribbon. I think I may be a ribbon addict. But really, I do so many ribbon projects-so I should just call it a (very pretty) necessity! This dandy little hanging device would be really easy to replicate. A dowel, rulers or paint stirrers and what looks like shower curtain hangers. This Mamie Jane is brilliant!

In my craft room I have shelves. I also have itty bitty embellishments of all sorts. AND I have a goodly supply of jars in the garage. Shelves + embellishments + jars =

I always have a bunch of little pieces of paper haphazardly strewn around my desk. A brightly painted salvaged window shutter-who would have thought?!

Do you lose cords like I lose cords? I am constantly teetering on one leg, leaning over my desk looking for the printer cable. Check this idea out:

So here is to getting started on the organizational part of your New Year’s resolutions! I am adding a few of the above to my list.
What are some organizational projects that you have on your list this year?
Love the shutter idea – would be great for holiday cards too!
I love the clips to hold all the cords! I desperately need to do that with my desk! I’ve got cords all over the place! Thanks for the tip!
i am such an organizational geek i could totally myself with those containers that say “hair, face, skin”, LOL Thats how I have our meds org.!
I LOVE the window shutter idea, I’ve been searching for one but apparently everyone is looking for them!
I just saw some old shutters at my local antique store. Are you near State College, PA? 🙂
Those all look like great ideas, especially the window shutter. But I’m far too disorganized to get around to making these projects. Did I mention I’m not the least bit crafty?
I, too, love the shutter idea, but I also like the yarn labels. Very cool!
LOVE all of them, but my favorite is the yarn sewing on the bins!
Wonderful organizing ideas! Sometimes, we creative people are not too keen on keeping tidy, this will help many!
I love the shutter idea. I collect greeting cards and this would be a great way to display some of my favorites. Thank you for the inspiration!
Love your post…very interesting!
oh my goodness! The ribbon boxes are adorable! What a simple and fantastic idea. I tried knitting….after working on a washcloth for 6 months I finally put the knitting sticks (yeah, I know they have a real name but…hi…I clearly am not a knitter) away and the yarn has never been used again. This would be a perfect project for that sad unused yarn. Thanks for posting!
Eu adorei! Parabéns, seu site é lindoo!
I’m Brazilian and I love your site. Congratulations!
I love the lace organization idea. I have so much lace just thrown into bags and boxes, it would be great to have it organized so I could find what I was looking for. Thanks for the tips.
Organization is definitely one of my goals this year, I just need to get started on it! Love your pins especially the baskets- very pretty!
Good ideas but why do we need the baby talk :- itty -bitty, teensy-tiny? Come on, surely adults can present their work without resorting to this?
A crafter
