The Secret Life of Pets is the hottest movie in theaters right now and we can’t wait to see it! Even though we haven’t seen the movie, my kids all have their favorite pets and can’t wait to see them on the big screen. We’ve partnered with Simple Solution to bring you a fun and easy craft to make that your kids will love!
With the back to school season gearing up, my son is already excited to pick out his new backpack. There is this craze at his school to hang keychains from the zipper – it seems the more you have, the better! We decided to turn some of our favorite pets from The Secret Life of Pets into keychains for backpacks!
Materials for The Secret Life of Pets Keychains
- Toys from The Secret Life of Pets (we chose Max, Chloe and Snowball)
- Eye Screws
- Small Hand Drill or Sewing Aw
- Keychain
Directions for The Secret Life of Pets Keychains
I was so excited about how EASY this craft was. My kids stayed right with me and were my assistants by handing me the supplies.
The first thing you’ll want to do is use the small hand drill or a stitching awl and poke a hole on the top of the toy. Then, gently twist and make a deep enough hole to put the eye screw in.
Next, you’ll take an eye screw and insert it into the hole. Twist it in until it’s firmly in the toy. That thing isn’t coming out!
Once the eye screws are attached, you’ll attached the keychain. Then, hang it on a backpack, your keys or a lanyard! These are SO cute and were so easy to make! I know they are going to be a big hit once my kids go back to school.
My kids have been loving being home all day with our dog Zoey this summer. They have been playing with her all day, snuggling and even taking more walks. But when school starts again, I know Zoey will miss all that extra loving she has been receiving!
You’ll want to make sure they have a comfortable place to snuggle, easy access to water, toys and more. We always make sure that Zoey has a comfortable bed to lounge on while we are away and sometimes I’ll even leave on the TV for entertainment – hey, even your pets like to listen to music!
