It was about a year ago that I first heard about the Matilda Jane Clothing company. It was a kindergarten birthday party and my friend’s little girl came in the room in an outfit that was just as bright as her big smile. The little tunic and ruffle pants had as many colors as a box of crayons and the style was just as unique as the color palette!
The minute we got home I went straight to my computer to look up Matilda Jane. This company is truly different than any other I have come across-and you know I like to shop for my fancy-loving little girl! Matilda Jane Clothing (MJC) has over 400 “Trunk Keepers”. These women create a fun and uncommon shopping experience for you in-home. A new line is introduced twice a year and these are exclusively through the Trunk Keepers.
The MJC collections are one-of-a-kind. The pieces are made to mix and match and they can grow with your child. This year’s dress is next year’s tunic when paired with pants or leggings! My daughter loves the lively patterns, creative details and ruffles-how she adores anything with ruffles! I appreciate that the clothing perfectly combines cute and trendy with mom-approved age appropriate styles. That is hard to find!
The pieces came individually enclosed in a beautiful, soft mesh bag showing the name of the clothing line. They looked like pretty little gift wrapped packages! Attention to detail is also very important to MJC. Extra buttons come attached to the tags for each item of clothing.
Here is Maddy showing off pieces are from the Paint By Numbers collection.
The Turtledove Knot Top has a gorgeous chambray bodice and a whimsical bird-print skirt. I love how the different textures and prints of the fabrics work together! The Biscuit Tee is soft and a bit stretchy making it easy to layer under tunics or tops. The creamy, neutral color would go with everything.
The blossom bedecked Gallery Leggings are cropped and perfectly flared. My daughter said that they were as cozy as her favorite pajamas but made her feel like a rainbow fairy!
I can’t wait to find a Trunk Keeper in my area to purchase a few more pieces from the Paint By Numbers line. I have my eye on the Katydid Neilah Dress, the very cute and trendy Hawthorne Rose Jacket and the Lynette Cardigan just might go on MY birthday list!
Pssst… a new MJC line will launch in February!
Make sure you follow on Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest and Vimeo to stay up to date on all of the latest MJC news!
Now for something almost too exciting… Matilda Jane Company is offering one very lucky Sippy Cup Mom reader a $50 Gift Card! So go ahead, take a look around MJC and start your wish list now!

I clicked through to Matilda Jane’s site and what I love most about their clothes is that you can purchase an outfit for your daughter and buy something that is similar in style but still unique and different for yourself. I think being able to have similar but different outfits to her mother would please any little girl 🙂

This is cute! There stuff can be expensive, but it is good quality and pretty original. Another cool shopping tool for parents is text shopping… have you guys tried that yet? You sign up for just the gender and size of your child then they text you clothes to purchase… pretty fun and easy. You can check it out at http://www.deanandgrace.com. Great blog and great review!
