My friend Steph, from The Adventures of Goober Grape and Monkey Man has teamed up with Heidi from It’s just me…Heidi-D for an official “McFatty Monday Blog Hop”.
I’m sure a lot have you have read about McFatty Monday on various blog posts. It was orignally created by Blair over at Heir to Blair.
Now, I don’t know if I’ll be posting every Monday but I felt this Monday is fitting because tomorrow will mark the end of the first week of The South Beach Diet.
I decided to start The South Beach Diet because I have tried low-fat, counting calories, etc. and it will work for awhile but then I can’t stick to it.
(I was also diagnosed with PCOS and my doctor recommended a low carb diet. If you have any questions about PCOS, send me an email. I will try to write a post in the future about it.)
I am truly addicted to carbs so I thought this diet would be good to get the carbs and sugar out of my system. What’s great is it’s not as STRICT as Atkins. I’m still eating veggies and dairy. In fact, I’ve still been logging my food and not even going over what was previously my calorie count for the day.
Days One-Three were REALLY hard. I was hitting a afternoon slump and I would have given anything to stuff my face with pasta, bread, cookies, anything CARBY!
(Yes, I know Carby isn’t a word!)
But Day Four? 3 pm hit and I didn’t feel tired. In fact, I had a ton of energy and went down and used my elliptical for 15 minutes. I can only do 15 minutes right now, but it’s better than nothing, right? Which is what I was doing before!
So Week One will be over tomorrow. But I’ll go ahead and share what I have lost so far.4.8 pounds!
So for less than a week on The South Beach Diet, I have lost 4.8 pounds. I’m pretty excited about that and it’s a good motivator!
I’ll make sure to keep you all updated!

Wow! Great job! 4.8 lbs is better than no lbs as far as I'm concerned! Keep it up. I know you can do it. Just think of how fabulous you will feel in 53 days when you're on the beach!
