For me, laundry has always been a chore that I would put off as much as possible. Before we purchased our house 5 years ago, we lived in an apartment and I would have to make trips down 3 flights of stairs to get to a laundry room filled with old and loud washers and dryers.
When we bought our house, we went to the appliance store and bought the cheapest washer and dryer possible. It wasn’t a surprise when the dryer went out a year later and we had to purchase a new one off Craigslist.
Tucked away in my dark, unfinished basement, laundry is definitely something I didn’t like to do.
Then, I found out a few weeks ago that I was going to be a Whirlpool Test Drive Mom! I literally squealed and blathered on the phone to my husband who didn’t understand what I was saying in all of my excitement, so I had to forward him the email.
I was so anxious to receive the new Whirlpool Duet Washer and Dryer! I stopped doing laundry for a few days because I was so excited to do lots and lots of laundry!
We all watched out the window, while they prepared to get the washer and dryer out of the truck.
Then, they were here! In my basement!
They make my ugly, unfinished basement look just a little bit prettier.
I’ve been looking for inspiring laundry rooms on Pintrest because I figure that the new Duet Washer and Dryer deserve a pretty and functional home!
Check out this gorgeous laundry room with the Whirlpool Duet Washer and Dryer!
I wanted to share a few of my favorite things with you:
Front Loading
I love the fact that the Whirlpool Duet Washer and Dryer are front-loading, something I never have had before.
I love being able to actually SEE the washer and dryer in action.
You can actually see the water and soap mixing in with the clothes! I’m not going to deny that I watched the first few loads of laundry I did for at least the first 15 minutes.
Having a front-loading washer and dryer is also perfect, because it lets Hayden help me! I’ve been trying to let him help me with “chores” around the house, and being a toddler, he wants to do everything I do! The front-loading gives him easy access to helping Mommy load the washer and pulling out the dry clothes from the dryer.
Precision Dispense
I know that I was always using too much laundry detergent. I was definitely someone that thought that more detergent meant cleaner clothes! Now, I know that is not true!
With the Precision Dispense Ultra, I can buy a bottle of HE Laundry Detergent (I’m currently using Wisk, what do you use?) and pur the detergent into the cartridge. The cartridge will hold up to 18.5 oz of liquid detergent, which means 36 loads of laundry, depending on the cycle!
Not only is the Precision Dispense Ultra saving me money by not going overboard with laundry detergent, it also is saving me time by dispensing the soap itself!
Now, that’s smart!
Fan Fresh
There are many times that I will put a load of laundry in and I can’t get to it right away. Or, I’ll decide to put in a load late at night and then it sits in the washer overnight. We have all done it and we know what the clothes end up smelling like: musty!
With the Fan Fresh option, the washer will tumble the clothes for up to 16 hours, keeping the clothes fresh and clean!
Laundry Apps
I love my iPhone and I’m addicted to my apps. So when I found out that my new Duet Washer and Dryer has their very own laundry apps?
It was a match made in laundry heaven!
There are a ton of apps that give advice for different stains and hints and tips on all of your laundry questions!
I can’t wait to share more with you about the Whirlpool Duet Washer and Dryer! I will be making some videos and sharing more pictures with you too!
If you have any questions, let me know!
Disclosure: I wrote this review while participating in a test-drive campaign by Mom Central Consulting on behalf of Whirlpool and received a complimentary Whirlpool Duet washer and dryer to facilitate my review.
Twingle Mommy says
Do you think the front loaders hold more clothes. I do so many loads around this joint that a new washer and dryer that cleans more clothes would totally be worth the investment.
Sippy Cup Mom says
I actually do think it holds more. I’ll have to look up more sizes, but I have found that just from my laundry baskets that I am fitting more clothes in the washer and dryer!

I love that Fan Fresh feature! I forget loads of towels all of the time and end up having to wash them twice (or more) because they stink. I am so jealous of your fancy laundry set!!

When we got our front loaders a few years ago, I went through the same love as you did. It’s just hard to not sit there and watch the clothes spin around! I think it’s cool that these dispense the detergent for you, that’s a unique feature.
Also, I agree with your answer to Twingle Mommy – front loaders totally hold more than top loaders do. Since you don’t have to worry about the agitator, you can really cram it in there!

Oh this looks so amazing! I love the idea of the precision dispense too – how cool! I’ve never thought about looking up Apps for laundry!
