The weather was great on Saturday and we were both off so we decided to head to Meramec Caverns. It’s located in Stanton, Missouri which is about an hour away from St. Louis.
I’m sure people are thinking that we are crazy bringing a toddler to walk around on an hour and a half tour of a cave, but it was great! There were several other kids on the tour and I have to say ours was the best behaved. 🙂 But enough bragging!
The history of the cave is so interesting: Jesse James hid there, there were several movies filmed inside the cave and several parts of the cave have dated back to 75 million years. Crazy!
In addition to the cave tour (Which is $19 per adult, but go HERE to get a coupon for $3 off, thanks to VisitMo.com) there is also a restaurant, riverboat rides, canoe rentals a zip line opening next month. There are also campgrounds, which Heath and I are thinking about doing soon.
Heath and I love visiting caves and Meramec Caverns is one of my favorite ones. Make sure you check it out! HERE is a link to their website!
