We can all agree that 2020 rocked the boat for all of us. The coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic has thrown all of us out of our comfort zones, which is understandable. However, this has meant that a lot of us have been thrown off from our life plans and goals. As well as this, the many government-induced restrictions and lockdowns have meant that we have spent a lot of time indoors, completely struck off from life as we knew it. This time has been very hard on everyone, and now that vaccinations are rolling out and we’re beginning to understand the virus more, this leaves more chance for us to get back to our old selves.
Plenty of people have taken more time at home on their chins and used it to their advantage to become the best possible version of themselves. On the other hand, this hasn’t been entirely possible for everyone. You can become more mindful in 2021 and try to get back to a place where you’re comfortable with yourself. If you’re interested, here are some tips to help you along the way!
Do what you have been meaning to do
The restrictions that have been put in place because of the pandemic has meant that we have had to pause all of our plans. I’m sure we can all think of a few! For some, it may have been spending time with our families, or engaging in our favourite sports. For others, it might have meant missing one or a few trips to the dentist or orthodontist. Staying at home so much might also have allowed us to create a list of things to do after ‘all of this is over’. This is the case for a lot of us, and a strong part of being mindful is to complete these tasks in time.
Did you decide to change your hair? Undergo cosmetic surgery? Or get braces? If you had it on your list to get braces, we recommend that you go ahead and do it. It is never too late to consider doing what you want with your body. If you have been considering getting braces, you should contact ALIGNERCO. The team at www.alignerco.com have developed fantastic invisible and clear braces for your comfort and preference. Don’t hesitate in making yourself feel good and know that you’re worth it!
Exercise
Being cooped up at home for so long has also meant that we have had little opportunity to get outside and keep our bodies active. Of course, our daily allotted walks have been a great chance for us to get out to our local parks, walk our dogs and even consider going for a run or cycle. However, this hasn’t been possible for many of us. A great way to stay mindful in 2021 and beyond is to continue or start exercising. This doesn’t necessarily need to be outside, as there are plenty of options to exercise indoors.
A great exercise for mindfulness that people can do either inside or outside is that of yoga. As well as it is a great exercise to stretch and work up a sweat by engaging loads of muscles, it is also a fantastic way to stay mindful. Practising yoga is a hobby for people around the world and is a traditional way to ease the mind and rid the body of stresses and harmful energy. There are plenty of sources online to access yoga classes for free such as blogs and videos. We believe that yoga and exercise are great ways to keep our bodies healthy and relaxed. Staying mindful will also ensure that we are taking better care of ourselves.
Eat healthily
Have you been indulging in all the wrong foods and drinks throughout the pandemic? If so, don’t worry because we have, too. You can take better care of yourself in 2021 and beyond by eating and drinking more healthily. Making these changes and considering other options is a great way to improve our overall health and help us stay wary of bodily changes. Don’t feel guilty about eating the wrong foods when being at home – we all need to cope somehow! A regular medical check-up with a physician and a dentist is also worth mentioning. You can check out this dentist in melbourne to start your journey to healthier teeth.
Journal
Finally, you can also be more mindful and take better care of yourself in 2021 by journaling. Journaling is a great option for those who struggle to straighten their thoughts and for those who are regularly stressed. Highly sensitive people have been using journaling as a method to deal with stress for years. Having a journal can help inspire you and engage your creative side as you jot down your ideas on the go and set your future goals. You can also keep your thoughts organised. We love self-reflection!
