I’ve been blogging since 2010 and my blog has drastically changed. Recently, I’ve missed blogging where I share the more personal side, so I’ve decided to share a weekly Monday Musings post where I talk about what’s going on in our lives, fun finds and more!
What I’m Reading
Last week, I read Jane Green’s Falling. I’m a huge fan of her books but this one just didn’t click with me. It felt kind of cliche and then the twist toward the end was completely devastating. It wasn’t a happy book and that is what I usually like about her books. Immediately after, I started reading Me Before You. I had resisted reading the book because I knew how it ended after being spoiled when the movie came out. But I started the book and only ONE day later, I sat in my living room close to midnight sobbing by myself. Seriously. As I got closer to the end, part of me hoped that I was wrong about how it ended but then it ended and I STILL CAN NOT GET OVER IT.
I’m currently reading the sequel, After You. I’m hoping it won’t be as depressing as the other book.
Back to School
We are only a few weeks away from Hayden starting school – he will be going into third grade and I’m just starting to hyperventilate. I seriously feel like he just started Kindergarten. I feel like him being in third grade makes him so old (as you parents of high schoolers laugh at me), but it’s true. So I’m panicking a bit. Also, as of now he doesn’t have any of his friends in his class, which totally bums ME out, probably more than him. I’m sure it will all be good though and he will have a great year. (Right? RIGHT?!) BTW, check out these Apple Cupcakes for Back to School we made!
Stranger Things
OMG, have you watched it? My husband and I binge watched the show in 2 days. With twin 3 year olds and an 8 year old, it was really hard to do. We basically threw snacks at them and ignored them for 2 days….KIDDING! The show was SO good and I loved the mystery and the 80’s nostalgia. If you havn’t caught this show on Netflix yet, watch it now!
Fun Finds
I wanted to share some fun things I’ve found recently!
- My girls would totally love these DIY Mason Jar Fairy Houses from Mom Dot!
- These Ground Turkey Stuffed Peppers from Dear Crissy look delicious – they will be going on our meal rotation!
- I would love to what Smart School House did sometime – make 20 crockpot freezer meals in 4 hours!
- Are you watching the Olympics? SO many of my friends on my Facebook feed are but I can’t seem to get into them! BUT, I found these super cute Team USA shirts at Old Navy! {<—affiliate link} What event are you enjoying watching?
- I totally am drooling over the Dole Whip Margarita that My Crazy Good Life shared – have you tried a Dole Whip at Disney before?
I’ve enjoyed sharing a bit about what is going on this week. Check back next Monday for another Monday Musings!
This post makes monday’s just a little bit better.
I’ve never even heard of that show but now I want to watch it. Anything that gives me the nostalgia of the 80s.
I will have to check this show out. I love Netflix. Your apple cupcakes look so cute.
I’ve been so busy I haven’t had a chance to sit down to watch the Olympics. Thanks for sharing your fun finds. I am really interested in the Dole Whip Margarita.
School? What school? I honestly get sad thinking of a whole school year that is about start
If that book was that good, then I need to read it. I cried when I read Marley and Me. I think that is the only book that I have ever cried over when I read it.
I love this!! Its amazing how much a blog can change from the beginning until a few years down the road. I want to check out Stranger Things and see what the hype is about! 🙂
Sounds like life is going well! I have been so busy this summer and not reading as much as I should be – these books sound great.
Love this glimpse into life. Those mason jar fairies are too cute!
I’ve been hearing a lot about stranger things recently. If it really is this good, I guess I’ll have to watch it!
I keep hearing about Stranger Things! Wish I had Netflix!
I have heard about the show and just haven’t had a chance to check it out. I definitely will have to now.
You’re as bad as my sister with the books but she always wants to read the book before seeing the movie. Guess that’s why, she would want it to change also….lol
I love this idea! I’ve been blogging since 2008 and rarely just randomly write about what is going on in our lives anymore. Thanks for the inspiration 🙂
Such a fun post. Have a nice week!
I binge watched Stranger Things a few days ago. I can not wait to see what they do with season two.
Stranger Things is so good. I wanted to watch it all in one day but i had to split it up over a few days. I really hope they do another season.
I can not believe it is Back to School time again. We are planning a shopping trip this weekend.
I definitely want to try those Mason jars with my daughter. they stuffed peppers look amazing too.
I am hoping to check out Stranger Things this weekend. I have been hearing amazing reviews for it.
I love this! I needed this yesterday – especially this recipe!
It was interesting to read things on the personal side. It is nice to learn about the people behind the art we enjoy.
We loved Stranger Things. I loved the retro feel to it and the fact that it left me hanging!
I also binge watched Stranger Things! It was weird and twisted but left you wanting more! Can’t wait to see what happens in season 2.
