I’m just going to go ahead and admit it. I love the Twilight Series and I love the movies. At first, I wasn’t too sure what they were and why people were so obsessive over them! Then, when I was looking for a new book to read, my mother-in-law gave me Twilight. I’m so glad that all the books were out, because I read the entire series in a month. So there’s no surprise that I love the movies too.
Just don’t call me a Twilight Mom.

I had the chance to go see the latest movie in the Twilight series this weekend, which is Breaking Dawn: Part One.
My friend has never read the books, but we have always wanted to see the movies together. We really wanted to get a Twilight movie marathon in beforehand, but didn’t have time.
My friend and I decided to go to the movies this weekend. We knew it was going to be crazy when I heard that Breaking Dawn had already made over $30 million in just the first night!
I don’t know about you, but I just don’t have the patience anymore to stand in line to buy my tickets. Especially when I knew the lines would be long and full of squealing and hyperventilating girls discussing Team Edward or Team Jacob. I’m just squealing and hyperventilating on the inside.
Enter Fandango. Fandango lets me buy my tickets from the comfort of my phone or my iPhone.
The first thing I saw when going to Fandango on my PC was an advertisement for Breaking Dawn. They knew what I was there for!
I love how easy it is to use the Fandango website. I can browse by movie or theater. The other great thing about the Fandango website is that it’s so much more than just buying tickets. Fr example, Fandango has a ton of EXCLUSIVE photos, videos and MORE of Breaking Dawn: Part One.
I love that you can look at movies and buy tickets weeks in advance. No more getting to the movie theater and seeing that it’s sold out!
I pretty much use Paypal for everything now, so it was great to see that Fandango gives Paypal as an option to checkout, in addition to your regular credit cards.
It’s actually really easy to use Fandango. There’s basically 3 steps.
Order, Review and Confirmation.
Then, they immediately send you a confirmation email. You can bring that email with you and the credit card you paid with {or your ID if you used Paypal}.
When we went to pick up our tickets, we didn’t even attempt to stand in line. We went straight to the little kiosk that is outside the theater to pick up our tickets! Easy peasy and we were on to the theater for a little Vampire vs. Wolves action! I honestly can’t see myself using anything but Fandango from now on, especially with the iPhone app.
My Review
Like I said earlier, I love the books and I love the movies. So I knew I was going to like Breaking Dawn: Part One.
While the other movies have more “action”, Breaking Dawn is much more a love story. After all, there is a wedding and the much anticipated honeymoon! I was really interested to see how they were going to pull off the honeymoon scenes, since the movie was rated PG-13. Like the book though, they do leave a lot up to your imagination.
With Breaking Dawn, I’m still firmly on the side of Team Edward, but I felt sorry for Jacob in the movie, as you can tell he has such strong feelings for Bella. The acting of the main three stars (Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Launter} are the best out of any of the movies. I know this, because I caught a Twilight marathon yesterday on TV and was amazed at the difference in acting and how they have all came a long way.
The scenes in Breaking Dawn are gorgeous. We get to see gorgeous shots of Rio de Janerio, wide shots of Vancouver {where most of the movie was shot} and of course the dreamy, romantic wedding scene.
Another great thing about Breaking Dawn: Part One was that it was funny. There were several times that I was laughing out loud and so was the whole theater. There were great inside jokes and it wasn’t afraid to make fun of the whole Twilight series itself.
I don’t want to spoil anything for anyone who may not be reading the books and just seeing the movies {like my friend I went with}, but the end of the movie was something I had a hard time envisioning in the books. I think they did a great job at bringing a delicate matter to the screen.
Make sure to stay after the end credits for a bonus scene!
For me, Breaking Dawn: Part One was a fun movie and I can’t believe we have to wait a year for the 2nd half! I guess I’ll have to read all the books again while I wait!

I would like to take a moment to point out to you fair Sirs and Ladies who frequent this site that English food is most delectable despite what one of the above would have you believe. After all, it is the American palate that has given us deep fried butter and the “sloppy joe”. I shall not even endeavour to start upon that monstrosity you call a “twinky”. Heavens and crivens.Over all though a most informative post. I shall inform the getns at my local drinking establishment shortly. I bid you good day. Add movie showtimes to iGoogle

My sister got us tickets to see it a day early, but I got sick and couldn’t go. My hubs is not excited, but he offered to take me. I like the books, and the movies aren’t too bad, but you will NEVER see me cry if I meet Robert Pattinson in real life. I’m more of an Emmett fan anyway. {:

Aw, what a good sport your hubby is! 😉 I do like Emmett too! 😉

I loved “Breaking Dawn”! I went to a theater during a time when I knew it wouldn’t be too crowded, but I will definitely check Fandango out…probably for the Muppets tomorrow!

Read all the books the moment they came out. Was thrilled to see this one – bc I was excited to see her dress. It did not disappoint. We bought tickets to the first showing on Sunday morning – and the theater was FULL!!

Her dress was so pretty and I loved the whole wedding! Yay, didn’t know you were a Twilight fan too!

I didn’t read the book (ducks head) and just rented the first three movies over Thanksgiving (redeems self slightly). I now want to go see the 1st part of the last movie. I know there’s a lot of details missing, but I have enjoyed the movies on their own. You have me really excited to see this now!

How could you not read the books?! :-p Just kidding! I think they do a great job at bringing the books to the screen. I love the movies!
