Movie Review: Yogi Bear

I grew up watching Yogi Bear, so I was actually really excited to watch the new Yogi Bear movie with my husband and son.

I decided to rent the movie from Redbox. I couldn’t find it at the Redbox we usually visit, so I was glad I remembered my Redbox iPhone app! With the app I was able to locate the movie (in Blu-Ray!) and then even reserve a copy!

Yogi Bear is voiced by Dan Aykroyd, who I think does a fantastic job. Boo-Boo is voice by Justin Timberlake (who I love!) and at times I had no idea it was him! The main human stars are Tom Cavanagh and Anna Farris.

The movie opens with Yogi up to his old tricks, trying to steal picnic baskets from unsuspecting families, with Boo Boo helping.

The town is going bankrupt and the Mayor decides to sell Jellystone Park to land developers! The Mayor gives Ranger Smith (Tom Cavanagh) one week to come up with the money to save Jellystone Park.

With the help of Rachel, a nature photographer who is making a documentary on Jellystone Park, Ranger Smith sets out to have a 100th Birthday Party to celebrate and make some money from the tourists!

Of course Ranger Jones, another Park Ranger is working for the Mayor and trying to sabatoge Ranger Smith’s plans!

Will Ranger Smith save Jellystone Park? What kind of antics do Yogi and Boo Boo get into?

Hayden loved watching Yogi Bear! It was a fun family film, with amazing CGI animation and the park was beautiful.

After watching Yogi Bear, we decided to have a Pic-A-Nic of our own with Peter Pan All Natural Peanut Butter Sandwiches! For dessert we had chocolate Hunt’s Snack Packs topped off with Reddi-Wip! YUM!
