For almost the entire month of December, I was sick. It started out with a small cold and then turned into an ear and sinus infection. After a few rounds of antibiotics that weren’t working, I was diagnosed with bronchitis and put on a stronger dose of antibiotics. Finally, that worked and kicked my body back into good health. But that month was tough. Not only was it busy with Christmas to prepare for, my 6 year old was also home on winter break in addition to my one year old twins. They demanded my attention and didn’t want me to rest! Somehow I got through it but not without some help! Here are my recommendations on some must-haves you need for when Mom is sick.
Netflix
Thanks to Netflix, I was able to gather all the kiddos up in my bed or the basement while I laid down and we all watched something on Netflix. There’s a huge variety of children’s shows to choose from like Mickey Mouse Clubhouse for the younger ones and my son’s latest favorite – All Hail King Julien. When my husband came home and took over, I was even able to stay in bed and watch some Netflix myself – I totally recommend some Parenthood or Orange is the New Black.
Humidifier
I had so much junk in my head because of the sinus infection. When I got a humidifier and started running it in my bedroom, I started sleeping a lot better. It gave me a clearer head in the morning to be with the kids. I also added an extra pillow under mine to prop my head up even more at night. A humidifier is a must for the whole family when someone is sick.
Easy Snacks
It seems that my three kids eat ALL day. When you’re REALLY sick, you don’t want to be in the kitchen all day making meals. For my older son, I poured cups of milk and kept them in the fridge so he could easily grab in addition to bags of already cut apples. Graham crackers and Goldfish were also put on the counter so we could easily grab them for the kids. I also loved the Disney Foodles – pre-packed sliced apples, cubed cheese and pretzels for my kids to snack on!
Depend
Yup, I said Depend. While I didn’t personally use these while I was sick, there was more than a few times that I wished I had! Three kids + a severe cough = bladder leakage. It shouldn’t be an embarrassing subject, but sometimes it is. But over 65 million Americans experience bladder leakage! More people in their 20’s experience bladder leakage than people in their 80’s!
Depend is bringing awareness to Underwareness – a social movement and a charitable cause. Over 65 million Americans experience bladder leakage, and nearly half of them are under age 50. But nobody wants to talk about it. Until now. Depend will donate $1, up to $3 million, over the next three years to charities that advance the research, education and awareness of bladder leakage for: Every pant drop, photo and video shared. Use the hashtags #Underwareness and #DropYourPants.
Depend isn’t a bulky diaper – they are thin and comfortable to wear. Better yet, they provide protection – something a Mom needs when she’s sick and can’t stop coughing! Get your FREE sample of Depend now!
