I participated in an Ambassador Program on behalf of Mom Central Consulting (#MC) for Sprint. I received product samples to facilitate my review.
What’s on your wish list this year? If you’re like a lot of my friends and family, you might be wanting a new smartphone! We are a tech loving family and with my husband developing apps, he loves to frequently change out his phones for the latest and best smartphones. Our current favorite and sure to be a hot seller this holiday season? The LG G2 Phone from Sprint!
There are SO many different smartphones out there and if you’re out at the store shopping for a loved one – or even yourself! – it can be overwhelming to pick which one is right for you. While there’s many features that I love for the LG G2 Phone from Sprint, here are my top 5 favorite features that I think you’ll love too.
Favorite Features of the LG G2 Phone
– 13-megapixel Full HD Camera: When I look at a phone, the first thing I open up is the camera. My phone is always on me and with 3 young children, it’s how I document our lives. I’m always sharing the photos via text with friends and family in addition to uploading to social media sites like Instagram and Facebook.
The phone features a 13 MP camera with Optical Image Stabilization – which means when you have two crawling babies and an incredibly busy 5 year old, the camera is going to catch an incredibly sharp picture even with a lot of movement! I also love that the phone takes FAST pictures – there’s no delay.
In the picture below, you can see how extremely dark it is in my kitchen, yet the phone is taking a bright and clear photo of my son’s cookies!
Below are two recent pictures that I took with the LG G2 Smartphone – I hardly even take out my DSLR camera lately!
– 2.26 GHz Quad-Core Processor and Slide Aside: These are actually two great features but they go hand in hand. As a blogger and social media manager who stays home with my 3 kids, I actually do a lot of work from my phone. There’s many times that I’m multi-tasking between Hootsuite, Facebook and Chrome. I like to get back to where I was fast and with Slide Aside, I’m able to switch between 3 apps in just seconds.
Thanks to the 2.26 GHz Quad-Core Processor, the LG G2 Phone from Sprint is FAST. I can run multiple apps in the background, browse the web for information, pictures and video at 4G LTE speed and not experience any lag time.
– Guest Mode: Okay, with 9 month old twins I’ll admit there are a lot of times that I will hand my phone over to my 5 year old for him to play some games. But there have been too many times that he has dismissed a text, accidentally erased an email or wandered onto YouTube – all things I don’t want him doing!
With Guest Mode on the LG G2 phone, you can set it up so there are only certain apps they can access when you had them the phone and it’s in that mode. This is great because I can make sure that my son only has access to educational games he can play while I’m attending to the girls.
– Design: Both my husband and I agree that we love the design of the LG G2 phone. The phone is extremely comfortable in my hand and I love that the slim bezel means the screen is edge to edge for maximum viewing. They don’t waste any space on the phone.
Another thing that makes sense is that all of the function keys are placed on the rear of the phone so as you are holding your phone, you can easily use the buttons. The placement makes it perfect and more comfortable for both right and left handed users.
– Clip Tray: My phone’s photo album is always full of screenshots that I have taken of different websites and photos I have came across. I’m constantly bookmarking different sites too.
Clip Tray is like the clipboard that is on your PC. You can store pictures, text, and links that you’d like to come back to later. It lets you copy and store multiple items in a slide-up clipboard at the bottom of the screen so you have easy visual access to it. You can add items as you browse and easily share links and pictures in an email, post, document, or text message.
Those features are just a few of my favorites for the LG G2 Phone from Sprint. You can check out all of the features and learn more!
Sprint has recently conducted a revealing smartphone consumers’ mobile behaviors, habits and concerns about privacy. There’s tons of interesting information and quite a bit of stuff that I’m guilty of!
Attachments to Mobile Phones
The majority of Americans surveyed with smartphones said they typically don’t go an hour without checking their phones. Unsurprisingly, the amount of time between phone-checks goes down among the youngest age groups and increased markedly as age goes up.
- Almost two-thirds (63 percent) of people would be upset if they left home without their smartphone.
- When people are without their devices, they miss texting (29 percent) and calling (26 percent) most.
- 97 percent of mobile phone owners report checking their phones occasionally while in the presence of family and friends.
Tips for Smarter Smartphone Usage
With smartphones being critical to everyday life, there are a few basic steps that Sprint and Lookout recommend:
- Set a PIN or passcode. It’s the first line of defense to keep private information private if a phone is lost or stolen.
- Don’t lose it. Tuck away a smartphone in a zipped pocket or bag when walking in public places.
- Practice safe surfing. Take extra care when browsing websites or clicking on links from a mobile device – the small screen size makes it especially tricky to determine a safe link from a fraudulent one.
- Be cautious when downloading apps. To minimize the risk of picking up a malicious application, only download from official apps stores, read app reviews, and check the developer reputation before installation.
- Keep it safe. Download an app like Lookout to help locate a lost phone, or lock & wipe the data if it cannot be recovered.
The full results of the survery is very interesting and informative. I also appreciate the tips from Sprint – I’m definitely going to be adjusting the way I use my phone a bit!
