My Experience at the World Premiere of Mary Poppins Returns #MaryPoppinsReturnsEvent

Just 4 days ago, I had the chance to attend the world premiere of Mary Poppins Returns, which is in theaters on December 19th. I had such an amazing experience and I just had to share the details with you!

When we arrived on the red carpet for Mary Poppins Returns, it was like we were being transported to Cherry Tree Lane in the movie. It was completely tented (which was good since it was raining outside!). The “floor” was cobblestone and there were cherry trees throughout the space. The “walls” of the tent looked liked buildings and there were characters from the movie walking around like someone selling bright balloons and lamplighters! The movie is so magical that there was no surprise that the red carpet and after party for Mary Poppins Returns would be magical too!

I loved seeing all of the details on the red carpet and it was so much fun spotting different celebrities while there! We walked in with Meg Donnelly from Z-O-M-B-I-E-S and American Housewife and she was kind enough to take a picture with me. At another point, we were waiting to go into the Dolby Theater when MATT DAMON walked by us and said hi to our group. It was completely surreal to see him in person!

We then headed into the theater to see Mary Poppins Returns for the second time (it did not disappoint and I can’t wait to see it again!) and took our seats. Dick Van Dyke then walked into the theater and was treated to thunderous applause and a standing ovation. It was truly amazing to see him just steps away from me as he walked by – what a LEGEND!

After watching Mary Poppins Returns, the cast and crew came up on stage – it was wonderful to see all of that talent on stage together!

Mary Poppins Returns After Party

After the movie, we headed to the after party! The ballroom was transformed and was a place of fun and whimsy! They had games like Penguin Toss, crafts like Build a Kite and, caricatures, photo opps and more!

The food was even fun too – they had English favorites such as tea sandwiches (cream cheese and cucumber), Shepherd’s Pie, veggies and more! The dessert was delicious too!

I had such a fun time wandering around the Mary Poppins Returns party with Karen from Desert Chica! We enjoyed food, played games, did crafts and walked by celebrities like Rob Marshall (director of Mary Poppins Returns), Emily Blunt and John Krasinski, Bellamy Young and more!
