I’m Stella, and I’ve been pretty open about how I struggle with anxiety and insomnia. To give you an idea about what is insomnia is about, you can visit this link here for more information. When I share how I feel on the internet, I’ve noticed that I got a lot of responses from others who also have to deal with anxiety and sleepless nights!
It’s not astonishing that many people are also struggling with how to contain their anxiousness, but it can be somehow comforting to know that I’m not alone in this problem.
Over the years, I’ve tried EVERYTHING I can get my hands to. I bought every product and remedies offered by pharmaceutical companies, and I even tried to drown out my alcohol problems, but nothing worked.
A friend of mine talked about CBD oil (cannabidiol), and he explained about the benefits and the entourage effect. It sounded very exciting, and I was ready to give it a try!
What is CBD Oil?
Cannabidiol oil is derived from the hemp plant extracts, and it is a type of cannabinoids found in the plant Cannabis sativa. Even if this came from the same plant where marijuana was also derived from, it does not result in an intoxicating high, and it doesn’t make its users stoned. You can know more about the different compounds of cannabis here: https://www.researchgate.net/publication/301264254_The_Botany_of_Cannabis_sativa_L.
The cannabinoid interacts with our body’s endocannabinoid system, which is responsible for many bodily functions. This system is responsible in maintaining the body’s stability in its internal state. Aside from homeostasis, the ECS also affects the body’s control of appetite, pain, sleep, mood, and immune responses.
Some of the benefits of getting from CBD oil are the following:
- Relief from Pain Sensations
- Reduced Inflammation
- Reduction of Anxiety
- Decreased Episodes of Seizures
- Lowered Possibilities of Diabetes
- Improved Sleep
Is this a Miracle Cure?
Supplements are now in trend, and right now, CBD seems to be on the rise. It’s still early to say that cannabidiol is a cure-all, or everyone can try it. But there’s always something that benefits every person when that supplement comes from nature. Here are the things that I found when trying:
Opening the Product Package for the First Time
The smell hit my nose and reminded me of the parking lots that I had in high school. I learned that marijuana and hemp are from the same plant, and they have different percentages of THC. The oil smells something like stashes of the herb. I got the package that Cheefbotanicals has sent me, and it was nicely wrapped. The labels are there, and the information that I wanted to know is printed on the bottle.
The taste is something that reminds me of an earthy flavor. It’s pleasant and grassy. If you love to bite dark chocolate, then you may appreciate the unflavored varieties of CBD oil. For the record, I tried the edible salve made from coconut oil and flavored mint to know more about the different tastes.
Taking the Oil
You can mix the oil into your favorite fudge. A few drops will do, or you can get a tincture and put the product under your tongue. The liquid drops are more comfortable to administer, and they taste a lot better too. You can also vape the oil if you want, but make sure that you get the one made for vaping.
How I Felt Afterward
I’m not into drama, but I could tell a HUGE difference after taking the product. Within 15 minutes, I felt incredible. The first night, I was able to sleep better, and this came as a surprise because I was struggling with insomnia for some months now.
There’s always a foggy feeling the first few days, and I feel a little less sharp when I wake up. My sister also tried it, and she said that she also felt the same thing. However, the foggy feeling lifted just a few days afterward, and it immensely helped me relax without the groggy side effects.
My overall opinion is that CBD oil is a very exciting natural supplement that can help with insomnia, anxiety, and other health issues. Although many brands are selling high-quality CBD out there, try to research first and balance affordability and quality. Who knows, it might work for you as well.
