Hayden has been having a HUGE word explosion lately. He’s really starting to speak sentences and saying some really random words like “giraffe”.
He has always repeated words for us.
“Hayden, say duck!”
“Duck!”
“Hayden, say dog!”
“Dog!” (He then throws in a Woof, Woof!)
I should have realized when he started repeating sentences, like “Here We Go!” and “Rain Go Away!”.
I REALLY should have remembered when I was stressing out about our DirectTv and the upcoming episode of Lost. There were storms, Lost was coming on and I was stomping around the house saying “Satellite Sucks!”. I said it several times out loud and on the phone to Heath.
Hayden very proudly came up to me with a big grin and said “Sat sucks!”. What?! “Sat sucks!”, he repeated.
Oh dear.
So I thought to myself, Okay. Now we really have to be careful of what we are saying around Hayden.
That didn’t cross my mine AGAIN when I was in the kitchen freaking out about our ant infestation. We had bought some ant traps, but 2 days later they still weren’t working. Heath was in the other room changing Hayden and I was complaining to Heath how we needed to do something, something new, I didn’t feel like cooking, blah blah blah.
I guess Heath was a little tired of me complaining so he told Hayden jokingly (I think?) “All your Mom does is nag, nag, nag!” So when I walk into the bedroom what does Hayden do? He looks at me and says “Nag, nag, nag!” I laughed and he repeated it.
Okay, so now I REALLY have to remember to watch what we say! ;-)*The ant traps are now working. 🙂
LOL – my son does the same thing! Sometimes I forget and something slips and that's the word he repeats over and over!!
LOL Gina! I really need to remember! I did it again tonight! Said a bad word and he's proudly repeating it!
Oh how funny!! I know I have to start being careful of this same thing now that my daughter has started learning words faster. I love that he learned "nag, nag, nag!" Haha!!

Yep, my son says some hilarious things and it's always funny to hear them repeat things that you say yourself 🙂
