During the recent Disney event, we were invited to screen NEED FOR SPEED. DreamWorks Studios based the film on the video game series of the same name that came out a decade ago. NEED FOR SPEED is packed with nail biting racing scenes and huge crashes-some of which are more than a little on the make-believe side, but definitely fun to watch.
The movie stars Aaron Paul as the leading man. Paul’s character Tobey Marshall is a quiet, tough guy-much like Jesse Pinkman, the character he plays on Breaking Bad. Tobey has a tumultuous past with another racer and his former business partner, Dino Brewster (Dominic Cooper). Framed by Dino, Tobey spends two years behind bars for manslaughter. Tobey is deadset on vengeance and he is not letting any roadblock get in his way.
Tobey plans his revenge with a heavily funded, winner-takes-all, invite-only race down the California coastline. Michael Keaton joins the cast as the mysterious Monarch, who narrates the race from an undisclosed location.
Scott Waugh, Director, has extensive experience based in stunt work. He opted to use practical stunts, in order to not cheese up the action scenes with cg. I’m not much of a car enthusiast, but I do love a good nail-biting action movie. NEED FOR SPEED is full of high-speed street racing, intense driving and LOUD , thrilling crashes.

The film is jam-packed with hot cars, impossible speed, mind-blowing crashes and a bit of suspense. It’s in theaters today, so go watch NEED FOR SPEED! Just keep an eye on your speedometer on the way home!
All opinion are honest and 100% my own. Disney provided an all-expense paid trip to cover the event.
