I can hardly believe it’s been 18 weeks on Nutrisystem. And I still have 3 more months to go which makes me so happy.
It’s always easier to lose weight in warm weather, isn’t it? Grilled chicken, grilled veggies, refreshing water, long walks….
I am so ready for summer!
Today we are headed to Disney World. We are leaving this afternoon and driving 16 hours to Orlando, Florida. Crazy, huh?
It’s so easy to just eat junk food on a road trip. It’s what we have always done in the past, stopped off at Fast Food places and that will be all we eat.
I am armed with my Nutrisystem food though. In my Tote Bag that will sit up front with me, I’m bringing: Chocolate Peanut Butter Bars, Peanut Butter and Jelly Bars, Cinamon Bun Bars, Chocolate Rainbow Delights (Think M&M’s), Carrot Cake and Blueberry Muffins.
YUM! Perfect snacks for while on the road!
I wanted to share some tips that the amazing @NutriPRMeredith shared with me for traveling on Nutrisystem.
~ Bring your meal planner with you! You can still keep track of what you are eating!
~ Sit down prior to vacation to choose restaurants to eat out at that have a variety of foods to choose from and that give you healthy options. Just be honest with your travel buddies that even though you are excited about the trip and can’t wait, you still want to stay on track with the program.
~ When dining out, remember that it’s okay to order the food cooked the way you want (i.e. salads with certain things not on the salad or on the side, steamed veggies( no oil) etc., grilled not fried etc). It’s okay to even let them know you have food restrictions and they will be sure to accommodate you. (I know Disney is good at this!!!)
~ When eating out, if the portion size is too big (protein sizes should be no more than 6 – 8 oz – about the size of your palm) immediately ask for a to- go-box and put half in the box before eating. That way you don’t overeat and have leftovers too!
~ When I go away, I try to be active – do activities where you walk around and keep busy. (This won’t be hard in Disney, we will be walking miles each day!)
~ Drink water with all your meals – with a nice slice of lemon or lime!
These are fantastic tips! And they are all totally doable!
I’m excited to meet some fellow #NSNation Bloggers on this trip. I’ve already met Kelly of Kelly’s Lucky You at Blissdom. Wish we would have gotten a picture together! I’m excited to see her again!
I’m really excited to meet Erica of Guide to Military Travel and the super cute blog Travels with Sam and also Barb of RuralMom.com!
Okay, so ready for the weekly weigh-in? I was a little bummed because I was up 1 pound.
So that brings it to a total weight loss of 16.3 pounds. When am I going to get over that 20 pound mark???
I’m hoping that I won’t come back from Disney World with a weight gain. I never have before because you are just walking SO much. Plus, I’ll be trying to keep up with an active toddler!
Wish me all luck and I will try to report in next Friday on how it’s going! I’ll have to find access to a scale!
Make sure you check in with my buddies Heather over at OurKidsMom and Heather at Living on Love and Cents! They are doing a fantastic job too!!
I have some new Nutrisystem buddies that could use some cheering on, too! Please visit Sara at “Deal”icious Mom and Xenia from Thanks Mail Carrier as they share their Nutrisystem journey.

Great tips! I love getting salads with dressing and cheese on the side so I can control the amount of dressing.

Have an amazing trip, Mama! Just focus on having fun and I totally agree that the amount of walking around and trying to keep up with Hayden will be plenty of exercise!

I know you can do. You have the right state of mind and a plan, that is a huge step to traveling. Like you said, it’s easy to eat just fast food on a trip, but with a plan you’re not giving yourself the option to rely on the easy. cant wait for your update next week. AND I can’t wait to hear about the trip/conference.
