We all have dreams and we all have challenges that we need to overcome to make sure our dreams come true. Throughout my life, I’ve had many dreams: going to school, starting a family, working from home so I can be with my kids…I’ve been able to overcome challenges that were thrown at me for those dreams to come true. It takes a lot of hard work but it can happen!
Right now, my biggest challenge is weight loss. I shared two years ago how I was able to lose over 50 pounds but unfortunately with some recent health scares, I gained it all back PLUS some. I know that I want to lose that weight so I can be healthier, get more active and keep up with my kids and be around for a long, long time. There’s always challenges popping up in my way – a day that is too busy to fit in a work out, my kids wanting to go out for ice cream and I’m not able to resist or my issue of wanting to snack when I’m stressed! I’m working hard to overcome those obstacles and I’m confident that I’ll be able to meet my goals and achieve my dream!
I’m lucky that I have a supportive family – I think that is #1 when you have a dream. If you surround yourself with people that want to see you succeed and are there to cheer you on, it’s going to be easier to get through an obstacle when one pops up – and they WILL pop up!
Do you have a dream that you are trying to achieve this year? Try making mini-goals. I’ve found that if you have a BIG dream, you may get disappointed if you don’t make that goal right away. Make some mini-goals that you can happily hit as you get closer and closer to the big dream!
Speaking of dreams, I’m so excited to check out the movie GREATER, which is in theaters on August 26th. GREATER is an inspirational movie based on the life of Brandon Burlsworth. Brandon had one dream – to play for the Arkansas Razorbacks. Unfortunately, Brandon was a clumsy player who lacked the physical prowess to make the team. He was written off by coaches and teased by his fellow teammates. Undeterred, Brandon continued to show-up for practice. He woke up before anyone else and worked harder than anyone else, until his determination paid off. Not only was he given an opportunity to walk-on and play football – he became one of the greatest players on the field, and was drafted to the Indianapolis Colts.

I am SO inspired by the movie Greater and can’t with to watch it with my family. It really encourages you NOT to give up on your dreams. I’d love to know – what are some of your big dreams?
Disclosure: I received compensation for this post but all thoughts and opinions are my own. I am also receiving a gift card to give to someone in my life who has big dreams – I can’t wait to gift it to them!
