Hey Prospectors, we just got done panning for gold! I know that you must be jealous of our Florida-like weather but we’re just as cold as the rest of you. We did our panning at the dining room table with the Pay Dirt Gold Company #1 Gold Rush Panning Kit!
The Pay Dirt Gold Company sets you up with everything you need to get you and your little miners set up. The Gold Rush Panning Kit includes:
The first thing we did was open up the box and check out the easy to follow instructions. This led us to the very informative YouTube video featuring Parker Schabel of the hit Discovery series Gold Rush. Parker is a young guy with years of experience. He runs through all the steps of panning and gives helpful technique pointers.
Once we opened everything up the kids separated out all the big rocks from the bag of pay dirt. They helped fill up a large tub with water. I’d recommend warm water. You are going to be spending some quality time with your hands in it. Then we set to work panning the dirt. We rotated the task and all the kids got to take a turn.
By the end of the afternoon our little miners were ready to stake their claim. They had a vial with the products of their labor and a great memory.
Now that we were all set up with our mining supplies with the Gold Rush Planning Kit (Retail $39.95), all we would need would be more pay dirt. You can purchase a 2 lb bag of pay dirt in the company store for just $29.95. If you wanted to get serious about your gold panning, the Horizon digital pocket scale is only $19.95 and is suitable for precision weighing. The Gold Rush Panning Kit would make a fantastic birthday present, or an afternoon of fun and education for the family!
Be sure to follow Gold Rush Pay Dirt on Facebook, Twitter and Youtube for all of the latest information!

Parker Schnabel!! My husband LOVES Gold Rush. I totally should get him this for his birthday LOL
This is way cool! I have never seen the show, but my boys would get a big kick out of this for sure.
We go on a lot of trips to Gatlinburg and one of my absolute favorite things there is mining for gems in the little shops! This is so cool that it’s a kit that you get to do at home!
How fun! Our kids went panning for gold on a trip a year ago and had a great time. This would be a fun present for them to try it again. Love it!
That’s an awesome toy! Looks like a super fun activity for the kids!
What a fun family activity to do when your snowed in. I can also see this as a good teaching tools for science and history.
