I partnered with Eckert’s Farms to bring you this post. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
As the seasons change, a visit to Eckert’s Farms is a must for our family. I have so many memories of visiting the farm starting when my son was just a few months old to actually go out and pick his first pumpkin in their pumpkin patch. For our family, it’s not summer until we visit Eckert’s Farms to go peach picking!
Peach picking started July 1st this year and we heard that the trees were bursting with peaches! We decided to celebrate our 4th of July by visiting Eckert’s Farms. It’s a tradition for us to eat at their Country Restaurant so we did that before we headed out to the fields. The kids were excited to each have their own containers to fill up with peaches as we boarded the tractor.
The kids always love riding the tractor through the fields and spotting different foods growing. We saw apples, blackberries and the kids got a kick out of seeing the little Christmas trees growing! I told Hayden we might need to come back this winter and get our first live tree! Once we got to the fields, they were eager to start picking peaches. The trees were truly full of them and there were so many great ones to choose from!
My kids went a little crazy picking peaches – we picked over 18 pounds and I know they could have picked more. They were eager to start taking bites of these big, juicy peaches and we enjoyed talking about what we would make when we got back home. My husband and I were thinking peach pie, peach sangria and a peach dump cake. The kids were just thinking of eating peaches and vanilla ice cream.
When you head to Eckert’s Farms in Belleville, you can either pick your own peaches in the fields for $1.29 a pound. If you don’t feel like doing the work, you can buy them in their Country Store. Speaking of their Country Store, it’s one of my favorite parts of a visit to Eckert’s Farms. Make sure to check out my Facebook Live video where I did a tour of the store!
Peach season ends in early August, so make sure to get out to the farm today to pick your very own peaches. It’s a family experience that can’t be missed – you will always cherish those special memories of picking peaches with your family!
