A few weeks ago, I shared some tips for breastfeeding and bottle feeding twins. As I mentioned in that post, I’m pro breastfeeding and I’m pro bottle feeding – I’m pro feeding your child!
Olivia and Evie are now 17 months old, so they are past the bottle stage and onto the sippy cup stage. I have quite a few friends that are pregnant so I’m gearing up for some baby showers and I know exactly what to put in them – two innovative products from Playtex Baby!
Playtex VentAire Bottle
If you’ve ever had a baby with colic, you know how desperate you are for a solution. Playtex Baby has created the VentAire Bottle, which is uniquely designed to reduce colic through a bottom venting system that helps reduce air ingestion.
It also features an angled design promotes semi-upright feeding which is recommended by pediatricians to help prevent ear infections. I always tried to make sure I fed upright but I love how this bottle encourages it.
As a mom who both breastfed and bottle fed her kids, I appreciate the wide bottle design and the fact that it’s compatible with all of the Playtex® nipples and caps. Mix and match bottles and nipples until you find something that works for your little one!
The Playtex VentAire Bottle is available in 6 oz and 9 oz sizes.
Playtex Nurser with Drop-In Liners
If you’re a busy mom on the go {and really, what mom isn’t?!}, then the Playtex Nurser Bottle with Drop-In Liners is for you. We never used these with my kids and I am KICKING myself right now.
Playtex sells disposable, pre-sterilized liners that make it clean and easy to feed baby. Even better, the liners collapse like the breast to help prevent air from mixing with the milk and entering baby’s tummy. This means less gas and less discomfort for baby!
Like the VentAire Bottle, it features an angled design to promote semi-upright feeding. Plus, with the Twist ‘n Click® seal, it’s 100% guaranteed not to leak.
The Nurser bottles come with a NaturaLatch® Silicone nipple that is designed to be most like mom, encouraging proper latching and promoting a healthy feeding.
The Playtex Nurser Bottle is available in 4 oz and 8 oz sizes.
All of the Playtex bottles are BPA-free and are available in most stores and online.

These look like great bottles! My boy is 19 months and yes, I still give him a bottle at night then brush his little teeth. It is a good way for him to get into the comfy, night time mode. I also still breast feed him during the night 🙂

Playtex were the only bottles I used with my kids. I’d definitely buy these for baby showers!

My daughters are in 6th and 5th grade so we’re a long way from the days of needing bottles. However, I still like hearing about great products because I do go to baby showers. I breastfed my babies but still needed quality bottles for times when I wasn’t able to breastfeed them. I like to tell new moms that also! Thanks for sharing.

I’m over this stage, but I wish I had known about these when Zeva was in this stage.

Things sure have changed a lot since 1970! Back then we only had the choice of plastic or glass bottles. One kind, that’s all. These look so much better for babies to use.
Kathleen says
I used to use a similar shaped bottle with my youngest, it was the only kind he could drink out of comfortably.

My niece is expecting. I’ll let her know about these.

They have always made great bottles!

My daughter really struggled with ear infections…to the point where we had to have tubes put in. I wish I had known about bottles being shaped differently to eliminate them.

We had leaking problems with the vented bottles, but we LOVE the drop ins! My son cant’ see to hold his bottle up high enough to finish it unless he’s lying down. With the drop ins we can squeeze the air out and he gets all of the milk.

This looks great! An improvement over bottles I was using for my youngest just 2 years ago, even!

I loved bottles like this when my kids were little. It really helped.

I’m pretty sure these are the bottles I used with my boys. Very similar at least, and they were Playtex. Great bottles for sure!

Colic is no fun, new moms are sure to find these bottles super useful!

I just had a baby a week ago so this is AWESOME, thanks for the tip! I plan on trying these out once I start pumping.

I love the design on these, and the fact that the liners collapse to help prevent air from mixing with the milk and entering the baby’s tummy, is awesome! Means less stress for me as a mom and on my baby.
