Spring is here and that means it’s time to get out an explore all that our city has to offer! There is just so much to do in St. Louis for families and we always have a good time. I’ve even started to make some trips out and about by myself – with a 6 year old and 1 year old twins! Evie and Olivia are in the process of transitioning from their bottles to sippy cups. When we decided to go out as a family a few weeks ago, I was so used to filling up bottles with water and then storing our formula in our Portable Formula Dispenser. I was trying to figure out how we would keep our sippy cups of milk cold for the entire day of errands and fun as a family, when I happily remembered the Playtex™ SmartCool On-The-Go Bottle Tote that was sent to me! I am SO excited to own this because it’s a simple bag that will come in handy for everyday use.
The Playtex SmartCool On-The-Go Bottle Tote’s #1 feature is that it keeps bottles and sippy cups cool for up to 14 hours! That is major for me! There are sometimes that we are gone all day or on road trips. I love that we can easily keep everything cool in this one little bag. Another bonus is that I tend to sometimes forget about sippy cups and when I go to grab it the next day, it’s pretty disgusting. Since this will keep it cool for 14 hours, it can usually stay in the bag overnight making the cup or bottle easier for me to clean the next day.
My 3 kids are prone to spilling and the vinyl material makes it easy to clean – just wipe off with a damp cloth. That’s a big help in case you have something that spills inside. The tote comes with 2 full size removable freezer packs that are slim and easily fit into the tote – in fact, there are pockets they slip into so they aren’t actually touching the bottles or cups.
While the girls are only using bottles for naptime and bedtime, the Playtex SmartCool On-The-Go Bottle Tote will hold up to 3 standard bottles or as I have found out 2 big sippy cups! Plus, there’s a mini-storage pod that you can clip on to the tote for pacifiers or extra nipples.
I love that I have this bottle tote to keep the girl’s milk cold whether I’m shopping at Target or on a road trip!
Another great item for both at home and on-the-go is the Playtex™ SmartSpace Dishwasher Basket. The dishwasher basket is a great spacesaver and has been THE place where I store all of our bottle nipples, sippy cup lids and valves, spoons and more! There’s no way you’re going to lose anything when you have this in your kitchen!
It’s also a great item for if you’re traveling out of town! We have a trip coming up to visit our in-laws for a few days and you bet I’ll be packing this. I like having a place where I know all of the parts are together so we know that we won’t lose them OR take over someone’s dishwasher.
We also sometimes will stay in a hotel with our kids. I am used to packing a small bottle of dishwashing soap to clean those sippy cups and bottles in the sink and it’s the perfect product to put everything in to let it dry and stay in one place.
Playtex as usual is thinking of us parents when they design these products to make life easier! That’s why I am so excited to be giving TEN readers the chance to win both the Playtex SmartCool On-The-Go Bottle Tote and the Playtex SmartSpace Dishwasher Basket!

My tip is to be prepared for anything and everything! I make each kid a bag of their own so its easier to find things (and makes it easier for my oldest to help out too).
My tip is to bring LOTS of extra clothes, and we always try to leave as early in the morning as possible. Our little ones tend to sleep better in the car the earlier we leave.
On this last trip to Disney, I packed each day of clothing for the kids in a ziplock freezer bag. Underwear, socks, everything. Both kids clothing fit in one bag (although some days were a tight fit! I have a 5 and 7 year old that are average sized). I labeled the bags that were for specific days. It made their clothing so simple throughout the trip! I just pulled out the bag the night before and bam…their clothes were ready. No digging through suitcases!
Pack extra everything! In the car I always keep extra clothes, extra wipes, extra toys/books, extra snacks, extra trash bags. It all fits in one small backpack!
bring extra clothes for different temperatures
For in the car traveling, I usually bring a few of their favorite play things and snacks/drinks to keep them occupied and full 🙂 We also play games as we are driving – something like I spy.
Bring lots of snack options and prepare with games/music to break up the trip.
ALWAYS bring an extra change of clothes, extra diapers and wipes (especially wipes!), and lots of snacks.
my tip is bring snacks and drinks with you so you dont have to make extra stops getting people in and out of the car
I keep them busy with things to do like color books or other reading material
always have a spare set of clothes, diapers, snacks, toys…whatever you have at home
My twins are just 3 months and my son is 6 and I still pack him extra clothes when we are on the go.
Dress them in easy, comfy clothes, especially if they are going to be in a carseat for a long time.
My tip is really for every day not just trips.I have had seven kids and we need to remember that they are just LITTLE people with feelings like ours.They get tired,hungry and cranky just like us :}
Always have a spare set of clothes and snacks hidden in the car.
Have things to occupy the baby or kids! Also pack extra clothes always!
I don’t have a tip yet. The farthest traveling I’ve done with my baby is home from the hospital!
travel at night when they sleep
I always make sure to travel with a small bag for each child that they keep on the car seat next to them. It has a couple of toys, books, crayons, coloring book, a water and a snack in it. Everything is right there next to them and they are usually content during the trip because they can reach everything they need.
Bring more than you think you will need!
