When the time came to start potty training my toddler, I read up on so many different kinds of advice. Some people told me to use pull-ups, some told me to just put him in undies and see what happens and some told me to just let him run around naked!
I ended up using a combination of all, but what really got him aware of having to go on the potty was putting on big boy undies and letting him have accidents. While I was excited that he was getting closer to becoming potty trained, I wasn’t excited for the mess my couches and carpet were going to become.
The first day that we tried the “undies only” experiment, I put towels on our couches but I quickly realized that I was going to run through most of my towels. Then it eventually happened – there was an accident on our couch.

I’ve never tried these, but they sound great! They would have really come in handy with our yellow lab and the unfortunate times that I had to clean up his messes.
Oh, potty training. Good times. And they’re coming up again very soon with our youngest. These sound like a great solution to the inevitable accident or two!
I always thought of using that stuff for pets only, but I didn’t think about kids, what a great idea!
