Pregnancy Update: 20 Weeks with Twins plus Gender Reveal!

20 weeks! Again, I feel like time is flying by!

 

20 Weeks Pregnant with Twins

 

 

How Far Along:

20 weeks, 3 Days! Time is flying by! I’m still measuring about 4-5 weeks ahead still.

Total Weight Gain:

Up 6 pounds.

How Big Are The Babies?

The babies weigh about 10 1/2 ounces now. He’s also around 6 1/2 inches long from head to bottom and about 10 inches from head to heel — the length of a banana. For the first 20 weeks, when a baby’s legs are curled up against his torso and hard to measure, measurements are taken from the top of his head to his bottom — the “crown to rump” measurement. After 20 weeks, he’s measured from head to toe. (Via Baby Center)

Food Cravings:

I’m still craving beef ! I’ve also been craving lots of sweets, but I’m trying to stay away. I could also go for a Diet Coke!

Food Aversions:

Nothing in particular!

Symptoms:

– Exhaustion: I’m still really tired. I’ll get spurts of energy but they don’t last too long.

– Round Ligament Pain: I’ve been getting sharp pains throughout my hips, back and stomach. It’s especially painful after sleeping or walking a lot, so I’ve been trying to spend as much time as I can off my feet. Baby A is very low so my stomach feels very heavy.

Ultrasounds:

We had our big ultrasound last week! Both babies look great with Baby A weighing 10 oz and Baby B weighing 11 oz.

How is Hayden Reacting?

Hayden is excited that Pudding 1 and Pudding 2 are girls! He had a blast helping out with the gender reveal pictures above. I think he is going to be a great big brother!

This Week, We’re Talking About…

The Twins room and names! Last update I mentioned we were thinking of a Peter Pan bedroom. Now, I’m not so sure but I can’t think of any themes for twin girls. Anyone have ideas?

We are also trying to figure out names. We had a list of about 10 boy names but nothing for girls! At least we still have 4 months left to figure it out!

Last Appointment:

Even though my last appointment was the anatomy scan, it was pretty basic. Everything is looking good so far!

 

Next Appointment:

We see my OB next week but those appointments are usually very quick. My next appointment with my MFM isn’t for another 6 weeks where they will then do an echocardiogram ultrasound, which is normal for twins. I’ll be 26 weeks and he is thinking we will start weekly growth ultrasounds at 30 weeks.

    WOOHOO!!! So excited and I love Hayden’s reaction in the photo, priceless.
    I still think you should go with Peter Pan and add Tinkerbell into the mix to make it a girls room. Would totally be cute.

    Congrats!! I just found out about your blog through a giveaway tweet. I have twin girls who are 3.5 and having multiples is very fun! Yes, you will be tired, but it’s all worth it! Did you join a Moms of Multiples group yet?!
