Green Babies, the original organic brand, was started by Lynda Fassa, best-selling author and natural living expert. She authored Green Babies, Sage Moms, which was the very first guide to help educate new mothers in raising a ‘green family’ followed by her second book, Green Kids, Sage Families. Lynda started Green Babies with a simple idea: That every baby is wonderful and deserves the best, most comfortable, cutest, most well constructed, softest, irritant-free clothes. (Without breaking Mom and Dad’s budget!).
Green Babies offers a line of Body Care for your baby that includes: Lotion Potion Moisturizer, Smooth Me Detangler, Calming Bubble Bath, Energizing Bubble Bath and Shampoo & Wash.
I don’t know about where you live but the weather here has been SWEET lately! April showers brough May flowers AND sunshine! We love it and enjoy spending a ton of time in it but with a family history of skin cancer we do our best to take care of our babies’ sweet skin. One of the most important things we do is slather them up with sunscreen before sending them outside. This part is a no-brainer. The tricky part seems to be finding a brand that blocks broad spectrum rays and doesn’t contain stuff like PABA, paraben, oxybenzone, homosalate, octocrylene… Even after we spend all that time reading the ingredient label we still have ended up with some real losers due to chalky or gritty texture, inability to absorb into the skin and some of the stuff just doesn’t smell great. That’s why I’m really excited that Green Babies is entering the sunscreen market with Green Babies zinc oxide sunscreen!
The sunscreen goes on white but absorbs quickly. It has a nice light smell to it. The kids didn’t complain and none of them had any skin irritation. I used it and it felt great on my skin-not oily and absorbed well. And after a few hours in the hot afternoon sun, my kid’s delicate skin wasn’t pink in the least! We loved this sunscreen!
Green Babies Zinc Oxide Sunscreen retails for $16.99 in a convenient three-ounce size. Available in unscented as well as a light tangerine essential oil scented version. It is available for purchase at Whole Foods Market stores throughout the nation, select specialty retail stores and on Green Babies’ website, www.greenbabies.com.
