When browsing Pinterest a few weeks ago for freeze meals and new dinner ideas, I came across the site Six Sisters’ Stuff. How am I just discovering this amazing site?! It’s full of amazing recipes and crafts and I immediately started pinning ideas for recipes to freeze before the twins get here.
I came across their recipe for Philly Cheese Steak Sloppy Joes and it sounded SO good. I am normally not a fan of Sloppy Joes at all but my husband is, so I figured that I would give it a try. Plus, I had most of the ingredients on hand. What happened is one of the most delicious meals that we have ever had!
There were only two ingredients that I didn’t have on hand – beef stock and mushrooms. My husband isn’t a big fan of mushrooms so I was okay leaving these off and decided to see how it was without the beef stock. AMAZING! I definitely need to try it with the beef stock though.
- 1 pound Ground Beef
- 1 chopped Onion
- 1/4 cup of Steak Sauce
- 1 cup of Beef Stock (I did without this!)
- 1 chopped Green Pepper
- 1 package sliced Mushrooms (I did without this!)
- Provolone Cheese
- Salt & Pepper
- Buns/Rolls
- Brown Ground Beef in large skillet for 5 minutes.
- Add onion, green pepper and mushrooms and cook another 3-4 minutes, until they start to get tender.
- Add in the steak sauce (I added a bit more!) and beef stock, season with salt and pepper and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
- Cut rolls and layer with cheese and toast under broiler.
- Scoop meat onto bun and ENJOY!
Oh my gosh, that looks delicious! I love cheese steaks (I think it’s a requirement when you grow up in South Jersey), but I never make them anymore. I might have to make these this weekend now. Yum!
It was SO easy to make and so good! We have had it twice now!
I hate sloppy joes, but this looks like a nice twist on it that might actually make me eat it!
Um, yum! That looks really good and easy too!
I love Philly Cheesesteaks and Sloppy Joes, I but never thought to combine them. This looks delicious and I can’t wait to try it!
This combines two of my husband’s favorite things and looks delish!
No, I have never tried another version of Sloppy Joes other than the original. I am not a big fan of them either. Meanwhile, I am always trying to find a great Cheesesteak variation recipe!
Yummy! I’ve made Sloppy Tots casserole, but other than that, I’ve always done traditional. This looks delcious!
My mouth is watering and I’m going to give this a try this weekend, when I find the time. Thank you for sharing!
My husband would love this!
Oh this sounds delicious! I’ll have to give it a try!
I have been wanting to make this for a few months.. I think I will add it to our menu for next week now that I’ve “heard” from someone who has actually made it 🙂 Thanks so much for sharing what you thought!

Oh that is absolutely divine looking! It looks so delicious! I want to try this this weekend!
Those look SO good! I might have to add them to the menu this week!
Looks delicious!
Really good sandwiches! I made these today on large sesame seed hamburger rolls, reduced the broth to 1/2 cup, and omitted the mushrooms. DH says they’re a keeper! Thanks for sharing. 🙂
