We visited Disney World in September and it was the first time we were staying in a vacation home. I was nervous on whether I would like it, because I usually like staying on Disney property. We were traveling with friends though and we wanted more room to spread out. With two toddlers, I was looking forward to more room – not to mention the washer and dryer that was in the home!
The Global Resort Home that we stayed in did not disappoint! It was in the Windsor Palms community, which is a gated community not far from Disney World. The closest park was only 2 miles away and the farthest park was only about 8 miles away! I definitely didn’t have to worry about being too far away from Disney World. The perk was we were so close to retail stores {I visited Target about 3 times that week!} and restaurants!
As soon as we pulled up to our home, I was excited! I absolutely love the look of Florida homes! I wish I could pull off having one of these homes in St. Louis!
The house that we stayed in had 5 bedrooms and 3.5 baths. It was more than enough room for 4 adults and 2 toddlers!
The living room was furnished with super comfortable couches and a 52″ television. There were many times that we just hung out in the living room. It was so comfortable, it was hard to get motivated to get up and going! There was also plenty of space for the kids to play with their toys on the floor.
The kitchen was furnished with everything we needed! There were plenty of plates, cups, utensils and pots and pans. It was so nice to have a kitchen while on vacation. We saved money by picking up some groceries and cooking a few meals! I loved being able to buy juice boxes, bottled water and fruit to bring into the parks instead of buying the expensive stuff in the parks.
The kids loved having the big kitchen table to color!
The bedrooms made us feel like we were at home, they were so comfortable! We were so on the go each day, it was nice to come “home” to a giant comfy bed!
There was also a fun bedroom for children that our toddlers loved hanging out in!
I also didn’t mind the HUGE bathroom in the master bedroom – I was so spoiled!
We loved the garage, where there was a pool table and darts. There was also a TV with a Playstation. We had a blast hanging out in here!
What I loved most about the garage though was the washer and dryer! Another pro for a vacation home! I love being able to have access to a washer and dryer while on vacation. If you’re flying, this will let you save money and space because you’ll be able to do laundry while on vacation!
There was even a little office areas so I could get some blogging done in privacy!
Who am I kidding? You know I blogged poolside!
Another favorite part of the vacation home was having our own pool and hot tub! This was the perfect way to end a HOT day!
Note: I LOVED that there was a bar on the door to get to the pool that prevent children from wandering out themselves PLUS another lock to get to the pool. Lots of protection!
In addition to all of the great amenities the house had, we also had access to the amenities that the Windsor Palms community offered. There was a clubhouse with a larger pool, tennis courts, volleyball, bike rentals and more! There was even a small store that sold anything we may have forgotten! I loved that it was so close we could walk to it!
This was our first time staying in a vacation home in Orlando and I’m certain it won’t be our last! We loved staying with Global Resort Homes!

Thanks for the review, I have seen a lot written about Global Homes. They seem to be the place to stay in Orlando!

Was it really not that far from Disney World? I think this would be cheaper than staying in the parks.

Hey Amy!
Where we stayed was anywhere from 2-8 miles away from the Disney Parks. Not far at all and I loved having our own car!

I sent the link to hubby, we have to check this out.
This is an amazing abode and we are planning a summer vacation. Even though we live 2 hours away and LOVE disney resorts, it’s not always easy for 3 kids to crowd in a hotel room.
This looks amazing!

You all would absolutely love this house! We enjoyed it so much! I think I didn’t even include a picture of the master bedroom with a king size bed!
We loved the ability of the washer and dryer and our own pool – there’s a lock also so the kids can’t get out on their own!
As much as I love staying onsite for Disney, it’s hard to go back after this house!
