Heath and I were recently able to review Microsoft Office 2011 for the Mac. Not only do I love it, but he does too! In fact, it was the perfect Father’s Day gift for him! 😉
I also recently went to a Graduation Party for my cousin who is headed off to his first year of college in the fall. This would be an amazing gift for him. It’s just what any graduate needs to be successful at school!
Microsoft Office 2011 for Mac
We purchased the Mac a few months ago and I have been slow to use it. I still had my trusty ol’ PC. It was familiar. I knew how to use it.
Plus, it had my #1 love: Microsoft Office.
I was literally in a panic when I brought the Mac to a blogging conference and was not able to bring up Microsoft Word. I had to work with Pages. It was so frustrating! I was definitely out of my comfort zone!
When I found out that you can purchase Office for Mac, I literally squealed out loud! Now, my Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint are all on the Mac!
What’s great about Microsoft Office is that it’s packed with all the features that I know and love, but also has some fun surprises too!
Now that the Mac has Office, I am going to want to start using it a lot more, which I’m sure my husband won’t like. In his opinion, it has completed his Mac! What a great gift!
PowerPoint has been around since 1987! Can you believe it? It also has came a long way! The Media Browser lets you display photos from your iPhoto or Photo Booth libraries, music from your iTunes playlists, and movies from iMovie, Photo Booth, and iTunes for instant access!
Excel lets you use your spreadsheets, manage inventory and do the household budget all on your Mac! Microsoft’s free Ribbon Hero training game will help you master Excel and the entire Office suite!
Outlook is even better than before! It now groups emails into “conversations”. No more having dozens of emails from the same person all over your inbox. You can stay on task by viewing your calendar right in your email! You can also use Outlook to unify all of your emails into one place! It feels nice to be productive, huh?
Microsoft Word right on your Mac! Say goodbye to pages! Microsoft Word for the Mac has all the familiar features that you know! Plus, it lets you co-author! Easily share documents with colleagues and family! I love all of the templates that are offered and you can download templates from online also!
I love the new Office Web Apps. With SharePoint and SkyDrive, there is no reason for Dad to stay late at the office. He can come home and finish his work because he will be able to access it anywhere!
With PowerPoint, you have the option to edit photos right there. I love that I can add music from my iTunes library also.
