I was really excited when I was approached by Microsoft to create a TripBook using Microsoft OneNote.
What is Microsoft OneNote 2010?
Microsoft OneNote 2010 is a digital notebook that provides a single place where you can gather all of your notes and information, with the added benefits of powerful search capabilities to find what you are looking for quickly, plus easy-to-use shared notebooks so you can manage information overload and work together with others more effectively.
Unlike paper-based systems, word processing programs, e-mail systems, or other productivity programs, OneNote delivers the flexibility to gather and organize text, pictures, web links/pages, and more — all in one digital notebook on your computer. OneNote can help you become more productive by keeping the information you need at your fingertips and reducing time spent searching for information across e-mail messages, paper notebooks, file folders, and printouts.
How did I use it?
My family and I love to travel and I often spend a lot of time planning. This includes lots of emailing, bookmarking links, jotting down ideas in a notebook and more.
But guess what? I no longer have to do that and I have Microsoft OneNote to thank!
I was able to take on the challenge of creating a TripBook for 24 hours in London, England! London is on my bucket list so this was a lot of fun for me. I also added to the challenge by wanting to do Family Friendly activities.
Using OneNote is so easy. It’s a digital notebook so you are basically starting with a blank notebook and then adding it.
I was able to add pictures, text, links and move it around wherever I wanted.
One of my favorite things about the TripBook is the ability to create Tabs at the top. I was able to break it down and create several pages to represent lodging, restaurants, top attractions and more.
Now it was easy to click the tabs at the top and have it bring me straight to the page.
See that text and picture? OneNote lets me easily click on it and move it wherever I want it to be on the page!
Another thing I loved was the ability to do something called “Screen Clipping”. If I was on a website and saw something that I wanted to remember there is no reason anymore to copy and paste!
How awesome is that?
Once you have everything in your TripBook you can constantly add or delete. You can also easily share with others by emailing the TripBook to them. They can then edit and view using the OneNote software or view in a web browser!
Make sure you check out my OneNote TripBook of Family Friendly London, England!
Let me know what you think! There is no way I’m going back to a plan ol’ notebook when I have Microsoft OneNote’s Digital Notebook to use!

I love my One Note – I use it all the time 🙂
I don’t know how I ever lived without it!
OMG, I have been wondering what that was on my new laptop. Sounds awesome. I am going to have to play around with it when I get a chance. =)
