If you read my last review on car seats you’ll know I am a HUGE Britax fan. I LOVED our convertible car seat for Cecelia: the harness, the reclining features, etc. Now that Cooper is getting to the point that I’m tired of lugging the infant carrier in and out of the house, it was time to put him into the Britax Boulevard convertible seat and move Cecelia to a Britax Frontier.
The Britax Frontier is a combination Harness-2-Booster seat designed for children who are AT LEAST 2 years and 25 pounds to 90 pounds as well as 30″-58″ tall (seated shoulder height of 12.5″-20.5″) for harness mode and 40 pounds-120 pounds as well as 45″-62″ tall (seated shoulder height of 15″-23″) in booster mode. At those weight and height specifications, I know Cecelia is going to be in at least the 5 point harness for a very long time.
I was worried that since this seat does sit lower than her Boulevard she would have trouble seeing out the window like she could previously, and thankfully, that is not the case at all. She actually said she can see more side-to-side than before as the sides are more open. She even talks to brother a ton more because they can see each better. But don’t let this slimmer looking seat fool you, along with the awesome specs in the design, the Frontier ClickTight still has some of the safety features that we know and love from Britax like the SafeCell Impact Absorbing Base, SafeCell Impact Stabilizing Steel Frame, and the SafeCell Impact Absorbing Tether to name a few.
Now, you’re probably wondering what this ClickTight technology is. Well, be prepared to be amazed.
Everything they said above is 100% true. It is the easiest car seat install. EVER. I had my husband time me while installing and it took less than 20 seconds to make sure the seat was secure (with the exception of tightening the tether strap). My neighbor came over while I happened to be checking the manual to make sure we did in fact install the seat correctly and I showed her the ease of this installation; I wish I could have gotten her reaction on video. Having kids of driving age, she was completely blown away and actually used the words “life changing.” And let me tell you, she couldn’t be more correct in that statement.
Now, if you don’t have a kiddo that is ready to be in a Harness-2-Booster, Britax has three different convertible seats that have ClickTight Technology as well. Check them out over on the Britax website and don’t forget to check out their Facebook page as well.
And don’t forget to follow my Instagram, Mblind, to check out previews of up coming product reviews.
Disclaimer: I received the above product for review. As always, all opinions are my own.
**Regardless of what car seat you decide to purchase for you little one, always make sure to have the installation checked by a CPST.**
Looks very nice and comfortable
Love the features on this car seat, great that it lets them see more out the window, can be a problem with some seats, but not this one, which is really nice as well as the overall design.
What a very nice and comfortable and easy to use Car Seat! I want to get one of these because they are so sturdy and click tight!
