It’s finally here – The Muppets is available on Blu-ray and DVD!
You may remember that last year I traveled to Los Angeles where I was part of a group interview with Jason Segel, Kermit, Miss Piggy and others! It was such an amazing time! I loved The Muppets so much {check out my review of The Muppets when I saw it in theaters} and I couldn’t wait to get my hands on the Blu-ray.
While on vacation in Los Angeles, Walter, the world’s biggest Muppet fan, and his friends Gary (Jason Segel) and Mary (Amy Adams) from Smalltown, USA, discover the nefarious plan of oilman Tex Richman (Chris Cooper) to raze the Muppet Theater and drill for the oil recently discovered beneath the Muppets’ former stomping grounds. To stage The Greatest Muppet Telethon Ever and raise the $10 million needed to save the theater, Walter, Mary and Gary help Kermit reunite the Muppets, who have all gone their separate ways: Fozzie now performs with a Reno casino tribute band called the Moopets, Miss Piggy is a plus-size fashion editor at Vogue Paris, Animal is in a Santa Barbara clinic for anger management, and Gonzo is a high-powered plumbing magnate.
I was able to review The Muppets Wocka Wocka Value Pack which is such an amazing deal! I was really looking forward to the special features and it did not disappoint!
Here are a few of my favorite special features:
– The Longest Blooper Reel Ever Made {In Muppet History – We Think}: With a hilarious actor like Jason Segel and cameos from some great comedic actors plus the The Muppets, you knew there had to be a great blooper real! It was so funny and had our whole family laughing out loud!
– Deleted Scenes: I love deleted scenes, especially when it comes to The Muppets. It just means MORE Muppets! These were great additions to the movie and even helped fill a minor plot hole that I was wondering about!
– Disney Intermission – We had to pause the movie at one point so our 4 year old could go to the bathroom and got a special surprise! Make sure you pause the movie a few times to see what happens! At one point my son was telling us to “Pause it! Pause it!”.
– Explaining Evil: The Full Tex Richman Song: When Tex Richman {Chris Cooper} started rapping on the screen, my mouth dropped open. It was HILARIOUS and unexpected. You’ll love this video where you’ll learn a bit more about this evil guy!
– Scratching The Surface: A Hasty Examination of the Making of Disney’s “The Muppets: My husband and I really enjoyed this special feature. You got to get a little sneak peek of the movie being made and how Jason Segel did about 85% of the jobs on the film! 😉
Check out some of these bloopers below!
