I was excited to get to try out this updated Reveal Spray Mop by Rubbermaid in exchange for my opinions of it. Available for purchase for $19.99 (suggested retail price) at Wal-Mart, Target, The Home Depot, Meijer and Menards.
I have a reusable spray mop I use almost every week, but this Rubbermaid one had some features I was very intrigued by.
Mop
The mop itself is very sturdy feeling. I hate something that feels like it might break when I’m mopping the floor good. I really like the thick grip handles. It’s a very comfortable mop to use.
Refillable
I love a mop that can be filled with my own solution and not a pre-filled bottle. The bottle pops off easily, and it unscrews like a sports bottle. The instructions say water and 2 tsp of cleaner. I like to use Mr. Clean for my floors. It was easy to do this mixture in the mop. Cleaning pad The cleaning pad is big! This is a plus in some cases. I love it for my large areas, but the bathroom is very small so a little tough to maneuver around (the toilet in particular). One nice thing about the large head is it gets under the stove a few inches. I do like that!
Scrubber
This is a new feature, and my favorite! Sometimes the regular mop pad (microfiber in this case) is not enough for sticky stuff on my kitchen floor. You just flip the head over and scrub it away. The scrubbing pad is removable for easy replacement.
Sprayer
Here’s where I was having issues. The sprayer is not battery powered, which is wonderful! I really don’t need anything else with a battery to change. However, the sprayer really sprays far and straight out! First attempt I gave the drawer under my stove a good spraying. You can fix this by staying away from walls when spraying, or tilting the handle forward towards the floor when you spray.
Overall
It is not going to replace my current mop, because of the size for my smaller home. However, I just found out from my Mom today that the one I had already now has a larger mop pad now too.
It will be an addition to my current one. This mop will be perfect for our large family room in the basement. It is all laminate, and with this big soft pad it will do great!
