One of my son’s favorite books is The Cat in the Hat and sometimes I feel like my life is a little like that except unlike the Mom that left the house for the day, I’m still in the house with my very own Cat in the Hat and Thing 1 and Thing 2.
I’m so lucky to be able to work from home and stay home with my 5 year old and 8 month old twins but my days are definitely hectic. The days start early and they end late. I’m usually up early with the girls and then the rest of my day is a whirlwind with bringing my son to school, getting work done, running errands and feeding my girls and trying to get them down for naps. And I’m going to confess something here – for the past 7 months, I’ve done it with no caffeine!
That’s right, I gave up caffeine when I found out I was pregnant with the girls in July 2012. Then, when then girls were born and I was nursing them, I decided to forgo the caffeine for a few more months. It was tough and on those days when I had only gotten 2-3 hours of sleep I desperately wanted a cup of coffee as my husband would make a cup of Seattle’s Best Coffee in the morning.
When the girls turned 7 months old, it was getting a little harder to nurse them and keep my supply up. So I decided to stop nursing them {Sniff, Sniff!} and then I embraced the caffeine! Your girls are in such adorable outfits, and I like you in the morning before everyone gets up I sit and read the paper and drink a delicious cup of coffee. I just love the me time, and it makes me feel so much better.
