You’ll never find me without my phone. With 3 kids, I’m always taking pictures of them and the cute stuff they are up to – sometimes it’s a dozen photos a day! My phone fills up quickly with photos and I’m always having to save them to my computer. Back when my son was little, I loved sitting down, going through all my pictures and ordering photo books for each special occasions. Now as a Mom to a 5 year old and 6 month old twins, I just don’t have time for that and unfortunately my pictures live on my phone and computer. That is until I discovered the free Shutterfly Photo Story for iPad app!
I absolutely love this app because I can now make completely customization photo books anytime, anywhere – I don’t even have to have an internet connection to create my photo book! I could work on creating my photo book while waiting in the pick-up line at my son’s school or at home late at night.
There are lots of different layouts to choose from so you can make the book your own. I loved that you could completely customize it by picking out the background colors, how many photos you wanted on each page and the option to add text so you could add fun captions.
You can choose to fill the book with photos from Shutterfly, Facebook, Instagram and your iPad’s Photo Stream. I love my Instagram photos but I never print them so this was the perfect time to make a photo book featuring some of my favorite Instagram photos.
I like all of my photo books to have a theme so I had fun going through my Instagram photos to decide what that theme would be. I finally thought it would be fun to create a book with memories of the last 6 months – when the twins were born and our family went from a family of 3 to 5! I have so many cute pictures of the girls and Hayden in my Instagram feed and I wanted to remember them always.
You can use the Smart Autofill option to have all of the pictures fill the pages for you once you select your photos or you can arrange them yourself. And typing out the captions to your photos? That’s a thing of the past because you can say the captions and the app will use Speech to Text to type it for you!
I also loved the fact that you can choose to have the app hide the photos that you have already inserted into the book. There’s been a lot of times I have been putting together photo books or albums and realize later that I’ve used the same photo twice. You can also easily crop and edit photos in the app.
I do so much with my iPad that I just love the option to create memories using the Shutterfly Photo Story App for the iPad. I was able to create my book and order it in just under an hour.
All of these great features aren’t even the coolest part of the app! If you’re like me, you’ve made photo books from Shutterfly before and then had family members want copies too.
