I have been working on this recipe for a few years now! I can honestly say these are the best Ginger Molasses cookies I have ever had. My friends and neighborhood actually request that I bring these to get togethers! I’m not a baker, but this recipe allows me to fake it! And now I am passing my delicious secrets on to you!
Ingredients
- 2 1/4 cups flour
- 1 tsp ground ginger
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 3/4 tsp cloves
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 3/4 cup softened butter
- 1 cup + 3 tbl white sugar
- 1 egg
- 2 tbl water
- 1/4 cup molasses
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Sift flour, ginger, baking soda, cinnamon, cloves and salt. Set aside.
Cream butter and 1 cup of sugar until smooth. Add egg, water and molasses. Mix until combined.
Create walnut size balls of cookie dough by rolling in your hands. They should be moist enough that they barely form a ball. If they stick to your hands instead of forming a ball, add a bit of flour. Roll cookie dough ball in sugar.
Put on cookie sheet allowing for a inch or so of expansion.
Bake about 10-12 minutes. Allow to cool completely on cookie sheet.
Enjoy! And be sure to tell me how much you love them!
Oh YUM! Those look absolutely amazing!
Sounds yummy! I might have to try this at a cookie swap this year!
These sound perfect for a fall day!
These are making my mouth water. They sound so delicious!
