Ah, solitaire. Back in the day, I used to be such a pro at this addicting game on my old Windows 95. Don’t you remember it? I loved changing the look of the deck and I always had a game minimized on my PC. No, just me?
Until last week, it’s been YEARS since I have played solitaire. Now, I’m hooked again! This isn’t your regular solitaire though, this is solitaire with a twist. This is Fairway Solitaire Blast!
Fairway Solitaire Blast is from the same team that brought you Fairway Solitaire, the App Store’s top-grossing solitaire game. It’s solitaire as you know and love it but with a fun and social twist!
Like solitaire, the goal is to play cards one higher or lower and clear the cards off the board. The twist is that you get to use an array of power ups to help you beat challenges that are designed around hand-crafted card layouts. All of the different rounds are played on golf courses that include hazards like crab grass and sand traps, so watch out!
As you advance, you have to forget about the basic game of solitaire and bring on the competition you feel playing an arcade-style game! Challenges are layered in and require players to play cards in a specific fashion. An array of power-up cards are at your disposal, such as a gopher with a card-destroying laser blaster, a wild card and more! Use the power-ups strategically to complete challenges and watch your score blast off!
Besides the fun and the challenge, I also love how social Fairway Solitaire Blast is! Don’t you just love apps where you can play with your friends? Post the highest score for each hole and gain bragging rights as you show friends who owns the fairway. Share lives by giving them to your friends and share your progress on Facebook. Big Fish is also developing tournaments where players can play against each other to win rare and powerful in-game prizes!

OH my goodness look at how graphics have changed over time! I used to spend HOURS and HOURS playing solitaire as a kid on our “original” computer!! This game looks awesome!
