For months, I have been planning to have this big Superhero Bash for my son’s 6th Birthday Party. I’ve been pinning lots of super cute ideas over on my Kid’s Birthday Parties Pinterest Board and had plans to rent a room, have an ice cream sundae bar and lots of games for all of his friends. I started making plans to invite his entire class – 24 kids! – and making lists of what games to play with that would be superhero themed. When I told Hayden about the party idea, I thought he’d be so excited. Nope. He wanted a birthday party at Chuck E. Cheese like some of his friends had and he only wanted 8 classmates coming. I tried to convince him otherwise. I showed him the pictures that I had found on Pinterest. I was almost close to begging. And then wait. Was I really trying to convince my son to let me spend hundreds of dollars and hours of time on a party when he just wanted one at a place with LESS kids AND they took care of everything for me? Am I crazy?!
So I took a step back and agreed to the simple Chuck E. Cheese party. I even made it simpler for me by sending out evite invitations to family and classmates. So now, I’m a lot less stressed and I’ll be able to enjoy his party a bit more. But I’m mourning the fact of my plans for his big party, so I’m now sharing here my imaginary plans for his big Superhero Birthday party – although fingers crossed for his 7th birthday!

That all looks so cute! Alissa from Rags to Stitches had a cute superhero party: https://ragstostitchesblog.com/diy-photo-booth-cristina-robeck-photography/ that looks like so much fun to plan!

What a super fun party idea! I don’t know why, but I am so lame about doing decorations for my boys birthday parties lol. They are both in August, so I just do a joint party with a bouncy house. I think it’s because the party is outside.

This is such a cute theme! I never have big themed parties! In fact, I have party anxiety and sorta hate throwing them!

Such a cute theme and I wonder if Pinterest will be around in 4 or so years so I can hang onto these ideas? My son would love this, I think. (Of course, I can always hope he doesn’t catch onto Chuck E Cheese!)

Oh heck, super heroes are forever. You can always do this down the road! Those are super cute ideas, but it’s totally ok that he just wanted a Chuck E. Cheese party!

I love that a lot of the decor can be used to decorate his room afterwards. Hopefully he lets you plan it next year, it would be awesome!

Just saw this post and have the opposite problem. My son said he wanted a Chuck e Cheese birthday and I was really excited to not have to plan a ton. Then we went to Chuck e Cheese for lunch and my 3 year old discovered if you have a birthday party there you have to sit by the mouse and he comes out to say hi to you. He is super afraid of “the mouse” and cries if he looks like he’s walking towards him.
Now he’s too afraid to have a party at Chuck e Cheese and wants a Superhero Birthday party at our house. So far I had to diy a pinata because they don’t make ones with Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, and Catwoman on them and ordered a bounce house so I don’t have to plan a bunch of games.
