Sometimes I think Hayden thinks the iPad is his. He has over 2 pages of his own apps.
I’m always excited when we download a new app so I was really happy when we were asked to review the Splish Splash Inn iPad app.
Splish Splash Inn is the first app from Short Stack Apps.
Hayden gets super excited every time he sees the little pancakes pop up on the screen.
Short Stack is a brand new company created by Carolyn Merriman, who previously worked with Night and Day Studios on the top-selling apps Peekaboo Barn and Peekaboo Wild (love those apps!)
The artist is Divya Srinivasan, an illustrator and animator who has worked with The New Yorker, animated several shorts for the band They Might Be Giants and much more! You can see more of Divya’s work at https://pupae.com/portfolio.
Splish Splash Inn is a magical underwater hotel, filled with musical sea creatures that teach children to count!
When you turn on the app there is a little fish that swims to the Inn. There are 10 doors and when you tap on a door you can see what musical animals live inside!
The colors are so bright and Hayden was giggling at all the sea creatures!
Hayden especially liked that when you touched each animal it made music and would move on the screen a little.
He was also quickly naming the animals for me, like jellyfish and shark!
You can also tilt the iPad or the iPhone and make the animals swim!
This app is great to get children learning their numbers up to 10! When Hayden recognized a number he would shout it out! It also shows you the number in addition to saying it out loud.
It will then count the number of animals on screen for you too so your child can count along!
I highly recommend it! Let me know if you try it out!
I received a the Splish Splash app to review from Short Stack Apps to facilitate this review. All opinions expressed in this post are 100% mine.

When it comes to early education I prefer to keep my kids away from technology. Maybe it's beause I'm super paranoid.
