St. Louis Photography Class for Parents {Giveaway!} #STL

Two of my resolutions for 2014 includes pictures. First, I want to learn more about taking pictures. Here I have 3 adorable children and a nice DSLR camera, but I just don’t know what I am doing and I’m not always happy with the pictures I’ve taken. The second resolution was to get into the picture more with my family. I have so many pictures of my husband with them but like most Moms, not many with me.

That’s why I was SO excited to learn about the Camera Love Class hosted by Kristie Cromie of L Photographie in St. Louis.

L Photographie is a local St. Louis photography company with a studio in the Central West End. Kristie started the company in 2003 and is an amazing family photographer. Below are just some of her pictures of her family.

What to expect at the class
We’ll spend the first two hours learning about the camera and settings to take full advantage of it with natural light. I’ll have a presentation, as we learn camera settings and ask questions along the way. Then, we’ll spend about 45 minutes actually shooting* (props; such as dolls and stuffed animals, not people) while I walk around and help with settings and give suggestions. The remaining time will be spent on what to do after you’ve shot; file storage, editing, printing, etc, along with some Q&A, giveaways and vendor discounts.
*Please do not bring your kids along to class. I want to make sure you have full attention on me and your camera.


What to bring/What’s provided
Don’t forget your camera! Also bring along any extra lenses you have, and your camera’s manual if you can find it.  It doesn’t matter what brand of camera you have for the class, but I am a Canon user and most familiar with those.  Although, I have used Nikon and Fuji’s.  For another model, if I can’t locate something on your camera, I will look it up and find it for you!  I will have some of my lenses here you can play with as well, (for the Canon users). I will be providing notebooks that include tips and pens for you to take notes, plus drinks & snacks to keep your brains nourished for learning – As well as some exciting giveaways!


Directions to our studio
We are in the Central West End, corner of Euclid Ave & Washington Ave.
From Hwy 40 or 44, head North on Kingshighway, turn Right on McPherson, first Left on Euclid.
Our building is on the Left.
You do not need to pay the meters around our building on Sundays, so if you don’t get a spot in our building lot, no worries.
There are also non-meter spots on Washington.
Enter from the Euclid side steps. We are located on the 2nd floor.

Classes are only $135 for a 4 hour class. Upcoming dates are January 26th, February 9th and February 23rd. March dates will be announced soon!

    I have had my DSLR for 5 years now and *still* can’t shoot confidently in manual. I have had my eye out for a class like this for quite some time, it sounds perfect!
