Welcome to Stalker Saturdays from The Life of a Sippy Cup Mom! and The Adventures of Goober Grape and Monkey Man!
We all have to start small. Stalker Saturdays was created to help the little blogs that we stalk to gain new followers. These are blogs that we find interesting, hilarious, touching, crazy…but they need a little help being pushed into the limelight!
All that we ask is that you visit the stalked blogger and check their blog out (you might even say that you’re stalking it!). If you become a new follower of theirs, let them know you’re following them from Stalker Saturdays!
Interested in being stalked? Do you ever feel like someone’s watching you…? Contact either Sippy Cup Mom or Goober Monkey and let them know…and we might stalk you next!
For this week, we knew we had to pick someone special. Taming Insanity is that special someone. She’s not only a riot, she succeeded in confusing Steph with the title of her blog (she thought it was Tanning Insanity and wondered why in the world she called it that)! Taming has a quick wit, a crafty sense of humor, likes playing with words and is adorable to boot.
Please welcome one of our favorite stalked bloggers, Taming Insanity!
A Rose by Any Other Name
Out of nowhere, Stephanie called me her Doodle.
So, here’s the thing: I like being Steph’s Doodle.
Before we knew we were having a boy, we dubbed our fetus Doodlebug. So Steph’s randon nickname hit a warm, shiny part of my heart. I’m well aware that she probably has other doodle’s on the side but when she calls me Doodle, I just smile.
I am a sucker for a nickname.
Obviously, it has to be a good nickname. Someone calling me Mick because my last name was McMurphy (it’s not BTW) just wouldn’t cut it for me. I’m a nickname snob. It has to be sweet and creative.
Because I sometimes allow myself to get riled up but the drama of life. Sometimes, as of late, things don’t go exactly my way. I’m blessed with an amazing husband a vivacious 10-month old son who climbs out of bath tubs and a good, solid job.
But we live in a one bedroom condo that we can’t sell, that we’re trying to get rented while we’re buying a house. The process is most decidedly a pain in my rear. A large, thorny, stabbing pain in my rear. I’m not bitter.
But being Steph’s Doodle? Is like a cool glass of lemonade on a sticky summer day.
When we got married, I missed my last name. I made my husband promise that I’d forever be his Little Ginka Bride. I have been and still am, his Little Ginka Bride.
Which is better than being a Doodle.
But recently, my son started calling me Mama. And much like how I’d hate the nickname Mick just because it’s obvious, I hadn’t been impressed when people called me mom after I gave birth. It seemed so….obvious. Trite.
Yet when my son did it? It was like a rainbow. It was sweet and creative because he knew me. He created a word for me. His words had love in them.
As the years go on, he’ll start to say “Mooo-ooom!” and roll his eyes at me.
Then I’ll have to settle for being a Little Ginka Bride.
Or even, on days when my husband is out of town, Steph’s Doodle.
(Steph’s note: I’ve honestly never called anyone else Doodle before…LOL. It just sort of popped out and has since stuck 🙂 )

It’s very trouble-free to find out any topic on web as compared to books, as I found this post
