Do you ever feel like there are more hours of decorating, baking, shopping and wrapping then there are hours in the day during the holiday season? One trick my husband and I have learned is to let the kids spend a night with their grandparents and spend a few quality hours blowing through Christmas lists! This year, we started our morning out right with delicious Starbucks Caffe Verona Coffee and Chocolate Chip Muffins!
I headed to Walmart to find the Starbucks and muffins that we would need to prepare for a weekend morning of intense shopping!
In the bakery section, I found the large Starbucks Delicious Pairings sign. Underneath, I found the Blonde Willow Blend, the Medium House Blend and the Dark Caffe Verona.
My husband and I are definitely into rich, darker roasts so the Dark Caffe Verona would be perfect for us!
And across the aisle were these delicious looking Chocolate Chip Muffins sold in a four pack.
The Caffe Verona and the Chocolate Chip muffins sound like a scrumptious pairing!
We brewed a pot of Caffe Verona first thing in the morning as we were making our final Christmas list changes and additions.
As soon as we opened the bag, we could tell this was not our average “brew at home” coffee. It definitely had a much fuller flavor than my usual cup and I could make out a hint of the cocoa.
Let’s talk about the muffins for a minute. I wasn’t expecting to be wowed by chocolate chip muffins from the Wal-Mart bakery, but these really blew our socks off. The most important part for me is the chocolate and these were just right. The chips were still firm and they tasted like good, quality chocolate! The muffin itself had a great texture and was perfectly moist!
I wouldn’t consider myself a distinguished foodie but I could really taste the difference when I took my next swig of coffee! The muffin really enhanced the flavor of the coffee. I could taste the milk and dark chocolate and caramelized sugar notes in the delicious coffee! The chocolate chip muffins and coffee were a fantastic match!
